Joe's website crash hearkens back to Rove's office "bugging" in 1986

<snip>
Mr. Rove's roster of alleged dirty tricks goes back at least as far as the 1986 gubernatorial race in Texas, when the Republican candidate, Bill Clement, squeaked out a narrow victory against Mark White after Mr. Rove, who was running Mr. Clement's campaign, said his office was bugged. Evidence pointed to the possibility that Mr. Rove had planted the bug himself.<snip>

An eleventh hour dirty trick, if played right by the media, could have tipped the scales in this race.

Query: Is Holy Joe as devoted to GOP campaign tactics as he is to the GOP's policy stances?

Just asking. :eyes:

2. It reminds me a little of
the 2001 "Clintons trashed the White House" story. It resonated long after the facts came out.

3. That was the first thing I thought about when it surfaced.
The FBI and Texas DPS should have fried Rove on the spot back then.

6. Oh, I don't think the Lieberfolk did it to themselves
I think they just decided to milk the situation for all it was worth, to give them a chance to whine about the "meanies" as much as possible.
