Boy is CNN ever whoring for LIEberman! |
|
It's sickening.
All the anallysis on how he could "pull in repukes and dems and independants", all the triangulation.
For fucking sake, you'd have thunk he WON instead of LOST to LAMONT!
Not a word about Lamont - other than his "fringe candidacy" and "anti-bush", etc, etc.
I want to vomit...

2. That's the Corporate Media for ya! |

They were a little late "pushing" for Lie-berman though....plus, it's harder for them to "influence" a Democratic Primary in one state. I'm sure that they'll try harder for the GE, as you might already know!

Did anyone see Colbert last night (Tuesday night)? He talked about how many times he'd invited Joe on his show and no response ever. Wonder why.
On the topic of Colbert, can anyone explain to me what the "falsiness" is that Eli Pariser from MoveOn and Al Franken claim he spreads? OK, the Wikipedia thing was dumb, but funny. It IS written by volunteer contributors - Colbert spoofs stuff, which is his whole point. Did I miss the thing that ticked MoveOn off?

First, the media always seeks out controversy, and where there is little, the create it. By pushing the number two guy, the create closer races, which improves their ratings. It's why I refuse to watch television news.
Second, they pimped the war. They now have to prove that only a fringe group of Dems oppose the war strongly enough to make a difference in elections. If they can pump up Lieberman's candidacy, create a strong three person race, they can claim that the fringe element won the race, not that opposition to their war decided the race. If they could get Lieberman to win as an independent, not only would it boost the amount of time people spend watching them, but it would justify their war as mainstream.
And if they can hype Lieberman enough to split the Dem vote and get a Republican in that seat, then they've really earned their (Republican sponsored) paycheck.
So they'll hype Joe, not because they care about him (he's too moderate for their tastes), but because it fits other needs of theirs, and gives the Repubs a better shot.

They don't hide their political bias anymore. I mean, look at the analysts...Tucker Carlson (dad's fundraising for Scooter Libby), Pat Buchanon, Joe Scarborough...no Democrats available to discuss OUR primary and OUR Party? It gets really old...

8. To be fair, all 3 of those guys have been hammering Bush. |
|
Sure, they say nothing good about dems, but at least they don't pretend reality doesn't exist like Fox.

13. True, but it is still through a Republican prism. |

There is no good reason why there can't be more balance with Democratic analysts. We are way under represented in the broadcast media.

14. I was watching Hardball yesterday ... |
|
and it was like bizarro world ... Mathews kept doing his best to describe Lamont as some kind of WASP elitist ... Said WASP 100 different times, and managed about 20 different ways to creatively say that he was a "liberal" in the way Limbaugh framed liberals ... At the same time, he kept saying how Lieberman was an everyday Joe ...
Jesus Christ ... Are you kidding me ... I don't know what he was in the past, but today, you would be hard pressed to find a more out of touch and tone death politician than Lieberman, and Lamont is a guy who came almost literally out of nowhere, to beat an incumbant senator ...
Just freakin unreal how far up the rear ends of the republicans the MSM is ...
