If Joe gets on the ballot as an Indy, he MUST be removed IMMEDIATELY....
...from any and all committee's he is currently on. If he campaigns against the democratically selected Democratic Senatorial candidate, HE MUST BE REMOVED.

There is absolutely no way that the Democratic Party should allow this turncoat to still represent them in Senate Committee's as he has made it abundantly clear he does NOT respect the voters of his party.

I saw him on the Early Show this am on CBS and he sounded like the republican-lite poisonous dwarf that he is. He decried partisan politics and then slammed the folks that ousted him. He then said that if we set a firm date to exit Iraq it would be bad for the troops (what, it's fucking paradise now?) and would leave the USA vulnerable to another 9/11 style attack...if ANYONE had any doubts as to what lack of character this man has, that statement was it. He spouts bush-enabling one-liners whilst claiming to be a moderate Democrat.

Fuck you Joe.

4. NOT an Indy! He's formed his own political party!
Joe created "Connecticut for Lieberman" to exploit a loophole in election law that would get his name closer to the top of the ballot.

The fact is that Lieberman is running as the candidate of a completely new political party that HE created to work against Democrats.

It's an important distinction.

9. Of course. Forming his own party is even more offensive than an Indy bid.
I just want the point noted...

Ted Bundy didn't just "rough up a couple of people"...he's a serial killer.

Lieberman didn't just decide to run as an Indy (which would be bad enough)...he actually formed his own political party to work against Democrats.

6. It was 'suggested' that the Cons might offer Joe a Chair seat if he
flips to Con. Late after KO, Matthews had a one hour special with "analysis." Wish I could remember who posited that.

Whoever it was, they said there might be a situation with the Senate being close (like 49-48 IIRC) in favor of Dems with Joe being an Indy and that Mitch McConnell would come and offer him Chair of the Armed Services Committee if he'll switch to the Republican Party. That would give the Cons a majority again and Joe would get a Chair. Personally, I think Joe would dump the Democrats in a heartbeat to do it.

8. Remove Him? The DSCC Might Even FUND Him!!!
Schumer said that the DSCC "fully supports" Sen. Joe Lieberman in his primary bid, and he refused to rule out continuing that support if Lieberman were to run as an independent.

There were degrees of independence, Schumer said. "You can run as an independent, you can run as an independent Democrat who pledges to vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader."

(from http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2006/06/post_14.html)

It's pretty patetic that we need to apply pressure to the DEMOCRATIC Senatorial Campaign Commitee to stop them from funding an independent... but there it is!
