Question: Do you think the Ned/Joe race results were accurate?

Now, I am just wondering. I haven't researched this enough, yet. But, I though it was important to throw it out there.

Given the insecurity of the voting machines...Do you think the election results were accurate? Because it seems to me given the polls and the turnout, Lamonts win should have been bigger. I think we should take a close look at this election and dig to find any irregularities NOW. Because if there was a fix (and again, I am not saying there was), wouldn't it be possible that the results were fixed to make it closer then it was....

So, if it was fixed in November, it wouldn't garner much surprise, if Lieberman won?

I am going to look more into this...anybody with polling numbers, post them here.

Thanks

1. Yes, I believe they were.
Lamont party had lots of us out, at virtually every polling place, to observe, and collect the numbers.

In conjunction with the fact that most precincts still use lever machines (a few use optical scanners), I think that the numbers were accurate.

2. We use lever machines in CT; very difficult to rig
Also the exit polls were very accurate.

3. They probably were accurate
Remember the last poll taken before the primary had lamont up only 6 pts. Which I am sure you understand means his lead was in a range of 6pts-moe < 6pts < 6pts + moe

8. I think it is important to consider all angles considering the present

State of voting in this country....

6. I believe they were.
A lot of people are sheep and simply voted for the incumbent because they didn't pay attention. Also, the media went on a non-stop blitz to help Lieberman and that made the race closer.

7. I think they were as accurate as a vote can be, meaning I don't think
there was any vote tampering. Some stupid things always happen in every vote, but I didn't see or hear of anything abnormal.

It seems, no matter what happens, some people are NEVER happy!!!

10. I haven't heard about any sleepovers with voting machines
or ballots in the trash. No one had to stand for ten hours in line to vote and spoiled ballots don't seem to be a problem. But I agree with you, we need to be watchful. If there were any reports of rigging, I'm sure Joe would have complained by now, because you don't cheat to lose.

11. Yes, I do. Lever machines are far more secure.
The closeness of the race isn't terribly surprising, especially with yesterday's "website hack" BS.
