Run as a republican?
That is what he is working for by running independant. Spliting the vote ensuring a continued republican rule. See? He isn't really for democrats controlling anything. That is what it looks like to me.
Supports 90 percent of democratic ideas knowing that the republicans will not vote for them....and then the ones that are really important....screws the democrats by siding with the GOP.

Most CT Republicans are going to vote for Joe, whether he's a Democrat or an "Independent Democrat", and Lieberman already announced that he'd caucus with the Democratic Party. So he's in no way splitting the vote, ensuring Republican rule, or against Democrats controlling anything.
