Lieberman not a Democrat, not an Independent, he is a Politician PERIOD!
How many seconds after conceding did JL announce that he was running as an Independent?

Many people seem to think that his is about 1 issue. For me it is not.

#1 Lieberman stood and spoke out against Clinton during the Impeachment fiasco

#2 Lieberman was snarly, pompous, arrogant, demeaning, petty and smug during the debates during the Presidential Primaries

#3 He voted for the war - which means he is either stupid or complicit. He is still standing by his decision to vote giving W the authorization to go to war and he thinks that (choke choke) W did the right thing by going into Iraq. This tells me that he doesn't learn from mistakes and/or is still complicit. He not only was on the same stage as W, but THE KISS!

Finally, Not all of his votes have been representative of the Left/Democrats.

Lieberman is an elected official, he has an obligation to REPRESENT his constituents, not educate them on why his vote and opinion is right. When an elected official fails to represent his constituency on such an important issue, such as the Iraq war and continues to side against his constituency, then what choice is there?

This war goes to human rights, the treatment of our military, our international policy and our national security. This Iraq war has never been a 1 issue problem. It has been multiple issues tugging at this country's very being.

1. He feels it is about 1 issue
So why does he not wake up to the fact that one issue may have taken him down. Time for him to step down from the race

9. The war in Iraq is a collection of many issues and to degrade
it to ONE issue isn't accurate or fair. To JL it may be one issue and if that is the case, then it is his misjudgement on Iraq and Iraq's many issues that did him in.

3. His self-importance is rather stunning
I knew he was a pompous ass but last night really took the cake. The man thinks he's too vital for the country to survive without.

5. A little while ago, on CNN, he had the nerve to say he's running
as an independent Democrat because he doesn't want "them" to take over the party. "Them" is the phantom "left wing, anti-war bloggers." Apparently he thinks everyone else is happy as a clam with him.

6. Joe is addicted to the power, prestige and the privilage..........
of the senate and he won't be denied his rightful place, so he thinks. Joe doesn't even care WHO re-elects him, just as long as THEY do.

8. re: "not educate them on why his vote and opinion is right"
If he strongly disagrees with the majority, his obligation is to convince us that his is
the correct view. "I know I am right" is not convincing.

That said, if he cannot convince his constituents that he is correct, which he has not done,
then his obligation is to step aside.

What this makes him is a dishonest whore.
