Did I Miss the RNC Memo on Kerry? |
|
Apparently, some of the right-wing sites I visit have posted stories about Kerry's post-Vietnam activities. They claim that on MTP, in May 2001, Russert aired a clip of Kerry denouncing his fellow soldiers and calling them "war criminals." (I've yet to hear the audio.) They also say his first book, "The New Soldier," has an upside down American flag on the dust jacket, with antiwar supporters holding it a la Iwo Jima.
When did this come out?
His first book, now out of print, has reviews from 28 January 2004 to 3 February 2004 on amazon.com. This must've been recently, and I must've missed it!

1. Upside down flag is universally accepted symbol of distress. No biggie. |

And bringing up the horrors and crimes of war is courageous. Most people will have Kerry's back on this and side with him. We know too much now to pretend there is no crime involved.

2. Yeah, JK protested the war. Most of us did. |

Except he was even more credible because he had volunteered for 2 tours of duty and lived to tell the sordid details of the 'police action' that took the lives of many from my graduating class.

8. If you make a factual assertion about a candidate that is not generally accepted to be true, you must provide a link to a reputable source to back up your claim. Allegedly "innocent" questions which are actually an underhanded effort to spread rumors are not allowed. If you really need to know the answer to your question, try Google.
