Two things about the CT race that need to be seriously clearly up
First of all, let me say that I completely supported Lamont in the primary, and completely support him in the general and have no doubt the Repukes completely support Lieberman for obvious reasons. But it's not to take a Senate seat away from us. The problem with the two possible ways of that happening:

1-Lieberman has said he will return to the party after the election. At the very least, he will have to promise to caucus with the Democrats like Jeffords did and Sanders will. To do otherwise will just hand the election to Lamont on a silver platter.
2-The Repuke is polling below 20% and he already has a scandal with some unpaid gambling debts. He is not going to win, period. Lieberman will not be a spoiler in this race, more than likely the Repuke will be the spoiler and take votes from Lieberman electing Lamont.

By all means Lamont is by far the superior candidate and totally deserving of our support, but we do not need to worry about losing the seat no matter what. And this pretty much negates some of the tinfoil theories going around here (you know what I'm talking about...)

1. Thank you.
I've pointed this out already, but I'm a Lieberman supporter, so everyone around here assumes I'm lying.

Of course, I still think Kos and the blogosphere will continue to devote extraordinary amounts of bandwith to their crusade to rid the Democratic Party of Joe Lieberman. Seriously, I think that defeating Joe Lieberman is more important to these people than defeating Republicans, even with control of Congress at stake.

2. "rid the Democratic Party of Joe Lieberman"
Uh, he left the party. He doesn't give a shit about Democrats in CT. In fact, he is actively working against their nominee. Most Democrats who lose primaries support the nominee. Not Joe, he is in it for himself.

5. 52% of Democrats hardly makes Lamont supporters the
"left-wing".

If that's the left wing, this bird is mighty funny looking.

7. Actually, only around 20% of registered Democrats voted for him
I think turnout was around 40% in the primary, which means that Lamont received the support of just over 20% of registered Democrats, while Lieberman received the support of just under 20% of registered Democrats.

8. I'd say it's a damn sight better than
being in a three-way tie for third place, wouldn't you?

And the turn-out for a primary in August was phenomenal. August. In CT.

Move on. He lost. The Dems here are tired of him, for far more than the war. He got a very big head, and forgot about the people he was supposed to serve. That's how you get tossed out.

And instead of doing what's right, and what's best for CT and for the country, his personal ambition continues to drive him.

4. Joe removed himself from the party already --
whatever claims he wishes to make to the contrary.

What he's doing now is all about Joe, and bad for the party and the country.

It's sad. He had a chance to go out with some class. He refused to take it.
