May 10, 2005 Flashback-Tom Ridge's quote about terror alerts
On May 10th, 2005, after resigning, former Secretary of Homeland Security Ridge looked back on the terror alert level changes, issued on his watch.

Mr. Ridge said: “More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it. Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don’t necessarily put the country on (alert)… there were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said ‘for that?’”

I think we know what the deal is now.

On May 10th, 2005, after resigning, former Secretary of Homeland Security Ridge looked back on the terror alert level changes, issued on his watch.

Mr. Ridge said: "More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it. Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on (alert), there were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said for that???"

Ridge had seen Bush and his cabal use terror alerts to push up poll numbers, knock any news about Kerry running for President off the headlines and to instill fear and dread into the American people to keep them wondering if their lives were in danger from the so-called endlessly Orwellian "War on Terror".

Ridge was part of the deception and at least had the balls to admit he was a deceptive puppet in the Industry of Utter Fear, as is happily applied to the American people by Bush and his ilk.

Now the new event that apparently happened regarding terrorists (using lotions, toothpaste, eye gloss all being poured into a salad bowl and then connected to an playing iPod thus blowing up planes) had been foiled by the British cops. Oh yeah, the Pakistani cops too...

Cheney is out there telling people who voted for Ned Lamont over Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary that those voters are aiding Al Qaeda. Bush is playing his stuttering, stammering, earpiece-coached fear statements regarding how we need to stay in the Iraq occupation forever. The one person whose country was apparently responsible for this huge bust, Tony Blair, is on vacation and hasn't said a peep about this incident.

Thanks to schmucks like losing Joe Lieberman, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and the other right-wing talking monkeys, the Patriot Act and NSA secret wiretapping on the American people also were responsible for nabbing these terrorists and their evil liquids.

It just gets stranger and stranger in the Land Of Endless Fear. And some people actually believe the newly concocted lies.
