Rider's name on no-fly list

A Boston-bound Boeing 777 was ordered back to London's Heathrow Airport yesterday over security fears after a passenger's name appeared on a federal no-fly list, government and airline officials said .
Four passengers, a male suspect and his mother and two sisters, were questioned by US and British security officials, who met the flight at the gate and escorted the group from the plane.
The male, whom authorities did not identify, was still being questioned by British and US officials late yesterday along with the women, federal officials said.
After arriving last night at Logan International Airport, passenger Michelle Walker-Adams told reporters that airplane personnel did not tell them what was going on.
The pilot said they were turning around `' `because there's a problem in Boston,' " she said. ``You had to be accompanied to the bathroom, and so when I asked the flight attendant . . . `What's really going on?' he said, `Oh, it's just because a lot of times, people get anxious when planes get turned around.' They had an answer for everything, so they kept us really, really calm."
Passengers were told to remain seated while officers boarded, she said. ``They pointed to this gentleman, and they escorted him off. There were three women with him. They escorted them off. It was very quiet, very peaceful."
It was unknown if the four had any ties to Boston or how the suspect's name got on the list, which was started after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to prevent people who may have terrorist ties from boarding commercial flights.
