Rep Jefferson has 12 challengers for his seat
Rep Bill Jefferson (D), Louisiana in hot water about money issues has 12 contenders for his congressional seat in the open primary which will be held 30 September.

I would think that large number would help Jefferson, who, despite his trouble, still has some support in the district. Unless some real bad news hits the fan before the primary he should be able to make a runoff.

1. Forgive me for saying this, but....
...I hope he loses.

We need to cut our dead weight out of our party. Jefferson is corrupt, and a blight on the party. I hope he doesn't even come in third, and that another Democrat has a chance in the run-off.

2. I agree
I was just thinking that a large number of people in a primary usually favors the incumbent. I think he should go as well. (I don't live in his district or his state - but we live 50 miles from NOLA.) But I am somewhat skeptical at the large number of entries; deals being made? And in Louisiana its an open primary so God Knows who will make a runoff; although it is a heavily democratic district.

3. I forgive you!
I think it's an embarrassment to us as Democrats, that we might re-elect this guy.

4. actually he still needs to get 50% and thus the large number of opponents
doesn't help him or hurt him all that much. In the end it will be a one on one race with someone or he will win the first round outright.
