Coonass to deliver FEMA trailor to White House |
|
Heard on the radio this morning (can't find a print story)
A resident of Chalmette, Louisiana in Plaquemines parish who lost his home to Katrina is going to haul his FEMA trailor to the white house, but I'm not clear on his motivation. He said he wanted to thank the president for the roof over his head but he did not want the president to forget the job is not done in South Louisiana and South Mississippi. He was interviewed on local radio this morning. He said he plans to feed bush some fine Cajun food. A lady called up and told him he should feed bush MRE's. I'll keep you apprised but this story certainly has legs of its own.

It can turn into something interesting. I could see that the fellow's motivation is sincere-but I could also see he's doing it to create an ironic situation. Please keep us posted. I'll be especially interested in his reception in DC.

3. I think his politeness |

may be a bit trojan horseish. If he went up there with a hardon for bush and made that motivation public he wouldn't get inside the city limits of DC. However, I could be totally wrong about our fellow American. He said his extended family lost 10 homes to the storm. Now thats motivation to drive that FEMA trailor to DC.

I had same impressions about his motivation. It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets to DC.

which company built all those trailers and how much they make on the deal. I would like to know what the government paid on each trailer and what it could have been bought for locally.
I have never seen this in the news. This information must be out there somewhere. I am sure the builder was very politically connected.

Our (now permanently anchored on a concrete foundation) doublewide was about that much and it is almost 1300 sq.ft.! That included moving it to the final location. And we, the citizens, got billed for WHAT? Cheapass metal boxes, half of which are still unused? I am pissed off.

7. I know a lot of them were built in northern Indiana... |
|
We seen a train load of hundreds of them going through our town one day earlier this year. They all had "FEMA" signs in the windows.
