Lieberman looks outside state for help
Lieberman looks outside state for help with independent run

Posted 8/12/2006 12:38 PM ET
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — When U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman conceded Tuesday's Democratic primary to businessman Ned Lamont and announced plans to run as an independent, he made an unusual political pitch to people outside of Connecticut.

"If you're disappointed with the ugly tone of our politics, if you're fed up with the nasty partisanship in Washington, then I ask your help too," said Lieberman, looking into the television cameras.

Lieberman called on Americans to visit his website and send ideas "on how we can build this new politics of unity and purpose." He also hit them up for campaign contributions.

"Together I am confident that we can find common ground and secure a better future for our children," he said in his address. "That, and not partisanship, is what our politics ought to be about."

------------

I thought he was all about the state of Connecticut?

What a pathetic and desperate man.
He really has a difficult time accepting the results and now he is turning his back on the party that got him a Senate seat.

Why don't you go all the way Joe and put an "R" after your name?

4.  I recall getting an email from Lieberman once it was a petition to stop
Judge Sam Alito to the Supreme Court. As I recall, the email said, and this is from recollection, the senator appreciates concerns this nomination is creating outside his constituency, but the senator would only listen to what the people of Connecticut are thinking of the nomination of Sam Alito to the Supreme Court. I was flabbergasted and thought to myself that this person is no longer a Democrat senator.

5. Memo to Joe:
So you have a web site now? Good. I'm glad you're finally catching on to the fact that the INTERNET finished you off.

You said so yourself: the Evil Bloggers had it in for you.

www.connecticutforlieberman.com

It's a parody site.

www.connecticutforjoe.com isn't linked to anything yet, but it may be in the near future. I know because I own it.
