Why unite fast once we know nominee? Guess what RNC is already up to....
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 09:12 PM by blm
I can't post the article, because I read it in my local paper.

The Republicans have ALREADY leased passenger vans in every district that they fear will be close in November. They aren't taking chances. They plan a very quiet, under the radar GOTV effort.

1. So we should unite behind Kerry already?
Yeh, that makes sense :freak:

16. The poster never said that.
They said when the nominee is chosen. That means even Dean.

9. Really? That's good to hear.
In my county (SC) the Dem party has a negligible presence. No office in the whole county which is fairly large, too.

You just brightened my day, bobbie. I've been agitated over this article since I read it earlier. I felt the GOP had the jump on us.

11. Hey, BLM
When you voted in SC, did they make you sign one of those "I swear I'm a democrat" cards?

5. They did the same thing in Philadelphia, didn't they?
Hired a fleet of vehicles, their operatives went around with clipboards with official-looking symbols on them, trying to intimidate voters into thinking they weren't eligible to vote. But the Dem mayor won anyway.

It's amazing how many slimy creatures can crawl out from under the RNC rock. Just amazing.

6. imitating a Democratic strategy
Innovated by Dems. In particular, Donna Brazile is a master at organizing these things.

Should be amusing, pulling up to those closed gate communities with a van, getting voters to the polls.

More likely they'll be handing out cash to anyone they can find to vote. We should have some plants out there.

21. Louisiana Senate 2002 is a great model
Democrats need to use the same GOTV efforts that Mary Landrieu used in Louisiana in 2002. I don't know exactly what happened, but I think her campaign had outside help from Donna Brazille, with Bill Clinton behind the scenes.

12. Then don't.
Nobody expects everybody to be happy voting for a longtime progressive like Kerry for President. I understand he's too liberal for those who prefer centrists.

8. Just an other reason for 10 Million/$25
If 10 million donate $25 to the nominee, DNC. We too would have the resources to launch such an effort.

Nobody's got 2162 delegates though, so no need for any uniting yet.

14. Primary turn out in almost every state was record setting-
we have to keep the ball rolling. Be up-beat and win over undecideds and moderates.
