Biden on Imus says he's "not going to campaign against Lieberman."
Corporatist Dem Biden trying to have it both ways, saying he supports the Democratic nominee (Ned Lamont) but will not campaign against Lieberman.

Imus, Newsweek's American Patriot," is, of course, viciously trashing Lamont and promoting Lieberman--reminding his viewers that he is a "registered Republican."

3. Biden's "support" of Lamont means nothing
if he doesn't campaign for him. I have a feeling a lot of reluctant supporters will also not campaign against Lieberman, which means they won't campaign for Lamont. :grr:

5. I'm with you all the way ananda
MONEY could NOT buy Loserman the Primary and it will NOT purchase him the Senate Seat.

We're psyched and mobilized. Even if the nasty "dirty LIEberman tricks" work for him ... the backlash against DINO Incumbents cometh ... it's on the way and will NOT be pretty. At least I hope for a large dose of JUSTICE in the next few Congressional Elections. Remember, they can't stack all the races so it's time for our Democratic Representatives to Serve Their Constituents - not the Corporations nor their personal career aspirations. ;)

9. Awfully tough, the Republicans & half the Dems.
Just what the value of the will of the people is to these guys such as Biden is being demonstrated in the starkest of terms. In short, they are scornful of us. They sneer at us, just as they do when they pass anti-constituent, pro big business legislation like the bankruptcy bill. They won't support the Nominee of the party, they prefer their old boys club.

11. Agree. Great Lamont article below from Providence Journal's Froma Harrop.

THEY'VE GOT IT WRONG ON LAMONT VOTERS

by Froma Harrop, Providence Journal

<[b>Almost everything Joe Lieberman's supporters are saying about his Democratic primary loss to Ned Lamont is baloney.i Expect more of the same as the senator regroups, this time as an independent candidate.

No, the Connecticut Democrats who voted for Lamont are not soft on national security. If anything, they feel more personally at risk than most Americans. No one in Connecticut has forgotten Sept. 11. The state lost 67 people in the terrorist attacks. People could watch the Twin Towers burn from the Connecticut shoreline.

These voters just don't buy the connection between their safety and the war in Iraq. Yes, many of them had initially backed the dream of a democratic Iraq radiating peace throughout the Mideast. But they now think that the Bush administration botched the job -- and don't care to have Lieberman question their patriotism when they say so.

Lamont rarely fails to note that the $250 million being poured into Iraq every day could have gone to secure the American ports or, for that matter, produce a more decisive victory in Afghanistan.i Or the money could have been used to better protect the vulnerable commuter trains that take many thousands of Connecticut workers into New York City each day.

23. Biden serves up a double dose of spinlessness on his non-support
1. He refuses to take a clear stand. He's a squish in the middle.

2. If he was a true fried of Lieberman he would support Lieberman. Frankly I respect anyone who would buck party politics purely for conviction and friendship.

14. Biden has always been a coward.
He never takes an unpopular stand. I can't believe he's even thinking of running in '08 when he got busted for plagiarizing last time he ran.
Lamont is everything he and Loserman will never be.

16. Imus ripped into Biden after the interview
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 08:51 AM by Snivi Yllom
Told the kid visiting his ranch that Biden was not keeping it real for not supporting his friend.

He also said the Jon Bennet Ramsey killer looks just like Ned Lamont and put up a split screen photograph. One of Imus' goons was unclear who he was referring to with the term "pencil neck pedophile"

20. Why are so many afraid
of going against Lieberman. What does he know about them? This nonsense makes me wanna puke. It is time we had a 4 term limit for congress & 2 term limit for senate. All we seem to get is good ole boys patting each others back & all wanting to come back to the great big party in the DC. This goes for both democrats & republicans. Maybe is it time to send them all home & start fresh. I am tired of the way this whole Liberman issue is being treated. he is taken as being some god that no one wants to really go against. WAKE UP PEOPLE LIEBERMAN IS NOT THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR CONNECTICUT.

Besides being a racist junkie he also has almost no ratings to speak of. Biden is a corporatist Democrat, he isn't on the side of the people. Fuck the both of them with a splintered baseball bat.
