John Kerry Revs Up His Political Machine
John Kerry Revs Up His Political Machine
August 17th, 2006 @ 5:29 am

While the Cowboy in Chief was playing Bono Wednesday on the back of a Harley, trying to look cool while pitching B.S. about the economy, a man who really owns and rides a Harley was busy “revving up his online political machine.”

John Kerry’s fundraising engines were roaring on Wednesday, when he “tapped his 3 million-person e-mail list on Wednesday to deliver a fundraising appeal” for Ned Lamont. The media was a buzz with the news that Kerry was backing “anti-war candidates.”

John Kerry is a man on a mission these days. He’s taking on the Republican machine. He’s backing candidates who share his views. He’s determined to help drive the Democrats back into control of the Senate and the House this fall. When you hear him speak, you know he means business.

Ed Schultz pegged it Tuesday when he said to Kerry at the end of an interview with him — “a lot of things that you said running up to ‘04, it’s a huge I told you so right now.”

The glow has gone out of Bush’s star, he’s still dipping in the polls, but meanwhile, Kerry’s star is rising and it’s burning brighter with validation every day.

Taking the opportunity to put his star power to work, John Kerry said in his fundraising email, “Ned Lamont has caused a national stir by successfully challenging the Bush position on Iraq that ignores the utter failure of the President’s policy.”

3. Great post, KG!!
You are so right about how Bush's star is fading and JK's is rising. Who would have thought that at Christmastime '04?

4. Dems are told to reject past leaders instead of touting "We were right"
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 12:04 PM by blm
"We were right then and we are STILL right now."

George Will's article gave them the perfect opportunity to beat that point home.

Instead we get Dem strategists with DC mortgages telling us to reject our past nominees and our past platforms that were too liberal for Southern NASCAR voters.

No money in just fixing the voting machines, eh?

John Kerry Continues Fight for Lamont, Candidates Making Iraq a Central Issue
August 17th, 2006 @ 9:55 am

Today, marks day two of John Kerry’s national fundraising effort for Ned Lamont, Daniel Akaka, and Bob Menendez. Yesterday caused a stir in the media, as news outlets reported Kerry was revving up his political machine to raise money for anti-war candidates.

Kerry will tap into his 3 million person email list for a second time in 48 hours, to continue his national fundraising effort for three Senate candidates who Kerry said yesterday, “have had the courage to stand up against the Bush Administration’s broken policy in Iraq.” Below is a copy of the email:

Dear Friend,

People who live in white houses shouldn’t throw stones.

George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove should know better, but it’s no surprise they don’t. For almost five years now, every time they’ve got their backs to the wall politically, they play “the fear card.” The latest example: Dick Cheney claiming that Democratic candidates who dare to challenge the Bush White House on Iraq are “emboldening terrorists.”

What’s worse, and startling, is that in Connecticut Joe Lieberman is now echoing their intolerable rhetoric attacking the Democratic Senate nominee.

It won’t work. We won’t let it work.

13. Uninformed Dems repeat RW talking points not knowing that Kerry has ridden
bikes seriously for over 40 years.

While we're at it, he's hunted, played hockey and soccer since he was a young boy. And cycles competitively for decades. Skis and windsurfs. And has flown planes since he was a freshman in college, and even does stunt-flying.

Sorry to burst your bubble where everything HAS to be a photo op. Bush is a pretender - Kerry has always been REAL and only stupid people who believe Drudge think that he isn't. Some of us can read REAL books and read REAL records.

23. You can accuse me of reading drudge, but he lost me as a supporter
when he laid down after the election. Remember "count every vote and make every vote count"?

I couldn't help but snark when I saw this thread that looks like a "Tiger Beat" gigling teenager slumber party.

24. Kerry didn't have the evidence to continue in court - nobody did. Did you
fault Gore's team for telling him he had the math and the evidence to continue? I'll bet no. It was the same Dem team of election lawyers who told Kerry they had no evidence to continue.

If you wanted to do something CONSTRUCTIVE instead of taking easy jabs that have no basis in reality, try making sure that the DNC and the Dem party spend every day COUNTERING the GOP tactics to steal elections and work to SECURE THE MACHINES BEFORE THE VOTE, since after is too late.

So they were in the same fuckin' frat, only at different times. Big fuckin' deal.

Show me proof, real proof that being in Skull and Bones means dick regarding how Kerry conducts himself.
