Republicans are supporting a "Pro-Choice" Democrat ? |
|
Every Republican in the nation seems to be jumping on the Joe Lieberman bandwagon. All these years they have been whining about "abortion" and how pro-life they are and now they are going to support a "pro-choice" candidate? Not only that, a Democrat! Uh-huh. I guess abortion is only a good "issue" when it serves their political agenda? They really could care less about those little "unborn babies"...

1. I guess they are not so pro-life now |
|
It proves what hypocrites they are, always complaining about abortion, but supporting a pro-choice candidate.

the hypocrisy factor of the GOPs who exploit their base on abortion and "judges" at every election. Except NOW they dismiss a candidate's views on abortion and judges as long as they are with them for WAR and will protect the WAR PROFITEERS.
War and profiteering has always been the agenda for GOPs - abortion politics has always been a tool and a smokescreen to use for the easily manipulated minds of the fundies.

Someone should circulate that to Republicans the way they do it...
"Joe Lieberman is PRO-Abortion. He wants to continue the killing of babies!"
They do it to us all the time and he's stealing their tactics (and working with Karl Rove) to use on all of the Democrats. I think it would be justice to give him a nice taste of his own medicine.
What else could we use? How is Joe on Gun Control? "Joe Lieberman will take your guns away!".
How about Lieberman's view on Bush's tax cuts?
"Joe Lieberman wants to raise your taxes!"
Cut off that Republican support and Lamont can win back the Democrats on his own and it will be an easy sweep.

11. But the Democrats have not used the issue to the same degree... |
|
...as the Republicans. Mostly because they have been more successful at co-opting the language - "pro-life" is much more appealing than "pro- abortion" or "pro-choice". If they only were "pro-life"...?

13. They like to use WMDs when they fight.. |
|
So I propose fighting fire with NAPALM...
We should start email campaigns.. get them out to CT Republicans via email lists. Maybe put some nice photoshop images...
Then at the bottom direct the Republicans to vote for Alan Schlesinger with a picture of his face and link to his site...
In small print put that the email was not authorized by or paid for by the Schlesinger campaign...
A couple of the right images and the right images and you've got Joe cornered with the very political base he is pandering to...
Hit on:
Abortion Raising Taxes Gun Control Gay Marriage (has voted against cloture on the FMA at least twice)
I know it's harsh but if he wants to torch all the Democrats who are anti-war with his Rove techniques and labels he deserves a taste of what Republican politics are like. And as the sheep they likely are, Republicans will respond and vote with Alan Schlesinger or not at all.

15. Republicans are social neocons either way. |
|
Their differences lie in fiscal conservatism beliefs.
You can use their ideology against them and the Republicans will listen to the social issues and back off or not vote. I'm sure they would not vote for Lieberman if they saw how much he compromised their other beliefs... then all we have to worry about are the Democrats and I think Ned can win them back on his own.
We need to play both sides here. Play Lieberman up as a Republican working for Bush and Rove to Democrats, play Lieberman up as a pro-abortion, tax raising, gay marriage loving, gun thief to Republicans.
Poison him for all voter bases he might try to siphon off of.

9. They don't care about the rhetoric |
|
He didn't stand in the way of Alito or Roberts, so they won't care how pro-choice he is. What matters is getting their people on the court, and if Lieberman won't impede that then his personal position on the issue is irrelevant.
