Will Bush be impeached.... |
|
...for lying about the warantless wire tapping?
Answer: No he won't. Remember Bush only lied about violating the Bill of Rights and not about the much more serious offense of lying about a sexual affair. :sarcasm:

1. No. A real constitutional crisis is less important than lieing about a BJ |

2. The supreme court knows full well what the implications of |
|
allowing that ruling to stand are. It probably has no chance.

5. Even if he was impeached and convicted, Arlen Specter would find a way |
|
for him to stay in the WH. A compromise bill with Lieberman as co-sponsor.

6. Hope not, I wouldn't like to see the legislative branch tied up with |
|
impeachment proceedings for the next two years when they have a great deal of vital work to do. I think a better alternative would be to send him and the rest of cabal to The Hague for trial and subsequent lengthy prison term.
This way it would free up congress to get on with work of the people, while it would also put the criminals beyond the possibility of a pardon as Raygun/41 (don't remember which one actually doled out the pardons) did for Iran/Contra.

7. First the Democrats would have to win the House by a large margin |
|
That's to get an impeachment.
To get a conviction, the Democrats would have to win the Senate by a large margin.
Oh, and along the way, they'd have to find their collective spine.
All of that's a lot to ask. I don't think it will happen. Bush will leave office on Jan 20, 2009 with his head held high and wearing a smirk.

No more then FDR was when he wanted to ignore the Constitution and enlarge the SC and was ruled unconstitutional by the courts, or the fact that parts of the New Deal was found unconstitutional by the courts. No president has every been impeached for violating the constitution.

No, he will not. And political energy expended on trying to get "back" at the right for impeaching President Clinton, is wasted.
Do you have time to waste? I do not.

Bush broke the law
he violated his oath of office
he repeatedly lied to us
his lives have killed 3,000 AMERICAN TROOPS

11. If there was EVER a case for impeachment, this is it. |
|
I don't care if it happened on his last day in office. To set the record straight, set precedent, and send a message that stands up for our Constitution, I want to see his ass IMPEACHED!!!
It is FAR from wasted time or energy, in my view!!!
Further, I want to see his whole cabal hauled off to JAIL.
I want history to record that the people of our era did stand up, and held ALL of these criminals accountable in the end.
