"A Safer America"

AUDIO VIDEO

DNC Chair Howard Dean: "We need a real tough fight on terror, but we need to be tough and smart, not just talk tough." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 8/13/06)

Sen. Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record) (D-Nev.): "We killed the Patriot Act." (Fox News' "Fox News Sunday," 12/18/05)

Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.): "(T)his administration's biggest problem, in my view, it took its eye off the ball because it focused on national missile defense." (Fox News' "Fox News Sunday," 4/4/04)

Sen. Candidate Ned Lamont (D-Conn.): "I look at the illegal wiretaps. I thought that was a time that Democrats should have stood up and held the president accountable. I think we should have said that was wrong. I think we should have had hearings. (Ned Lamont, Connecticut Democratic Primary Debate, Hartford, CT, 7/6/06)

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.): "If I ... did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners (At Guantanamo) in their control... (PBS' "The Newshour," 6/17/05)

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.): "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." (Sen. John Kerry, Speech In Huntington, WV, 3/16/04)

Rep. John Murtha (news, bio, voting record) (D-Pa.): "We need to redeploy and let the Iraqis handle this themselves." (CNN's "The Situation Room," 6/8/06)

DEMOCRATS SAY THEY WANT TO TALK ABOUT NATIONAL SECURITY AND THE WAR ON TERROR.

WHILE TERRORISTS ARE WATCHING...

"Democrats Asserting Bush Has Diminished U.S. Safety." -New York Times, August 15, 2005 (Carl Hulse, "Democrats Asserting Bush Has Diminished U.S. Safety," The New York Times, 8/15/06)

"Democrats Go On Offense In Latest Terror Case." -Los Angeles Times, August 12, 2006 (Peter Wallsten, "Democrats Go On Offense In Latest Terror Case," Los Angeles Times, 8/12/06)

"Democrats Hope To Challenge Bush, GOP On Terrorism." -The Frontrunner, August 15, 2006 ("Democrats Hope To Challenge Bush, GOP On Terrorism," The Frontrunner, 8/15/06)

WHAT ARE DEMOCRATS GOING TO TALK ABOUT? THEIR RECORD?

AGAINST THE PATRIOT ACT

AGAINST MISSILE DEFENSE

AGAINST TERRORIST SURVEILLANCE

AGAINST TERRORIST INTERROGATION

AGAINST FUNDING OUR TROOPS

CUT-AND-RUN IN IRAQ

THE FACTS?

THE REPUBLICAN RECORD SINCE 9/11

PASSED THE PATRIOT ACT

CREATED THE HOMELAND SECURITY DEPARTMENT

STRENGTHENED AND REFORMED AMERICA'S INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES

INCREASED HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING BY MORE THAN 300 PERCENT OVER THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION

DOUBLING THE SIZE OF AMERICA'S BORDER PATROL AND INCREASED BORDER SECURITY FUNDING BY 66 PERCENT OVER THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION

FIGHTING TERRORISTS WHERE THEY RECRUIT, TRAIN AND PLOT...SO WE DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THEM HERE.

NO ATTACKS ON AMERICAN SOIL.

DEMOCRATS CAN TALK ABOUT THE WAR ON TERROR, BUT THE FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

A STRONGER AMERICA. A SAFER AMERICA.

A US judge ruled that President George W. Bush overstepped his authority when authorizing the National Security Agency to conduct secret wiretapping, calling the program unconstitutional.
