Is Madcowprod.com an unreliable source?
Edited on Fri Aug-18-06 07:27 PM by Old and In the Way
I had a post taken down today because I posted to this website...is this off-limits? Dan Hopsicker used to be an NB?C reporter in Florida...because he has investigated Mohammed Atta and the April cocaine bust (reported by AP, BTW)that was on a DC-9 andvalued at $500MM...on a DC-9 dressed up in colors that look like DHS and flying out of the same airport that 9/11 hijackers trained out...this isn't news? Because the mainstream media won't touch it, DU has to pretend it didn't happen?

This really pisses me off...am I wrong about this?

Meant to include this before it was deleted ( note the AP source that is now not active...guess it didn't happen).

Published: May 4, 2006

AP - Just after noon April 5, a DC-9 twin-engine jet registered to a Clearwater company took off from St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, bound for Caracas, Venezuela. Five days later, the plane landed at an airport in Mexico near the Gulf Coast. The Mexican Army was waiting.

Mexican officials seized the plane and its contents - 128 black briefcases marked "private," containing 5.5 tons of cocaine worth about $100 million on the street, according to the Mexican attorney general's office. Beyond the seizure and the arrest of the airplane's co-pilot - the pilot escaped - much about the journey is shrouded in mystery.

Rumours after the jump

Rumours abound here ,here and here

The one that will get tongues wagging:

From SkyWay Press Release:

SkyWay Communications Holding Corporation (OTCBB:SWYC), and its wholly owned subsidiary, Sky Way Aircraft, Inc. are very pleased to announce that Mr. Brent C. Kovar, President and the developer/inventor of the high-speed communications transfer technology utilized by SkyWay, has been appointed to serve on the National Republican Congressional Committee Business Advisory Council.

Congressman Tom Delay, Majority Leader, has appointed Brent C, Kovar, to serve as the Honorary Chairman, Business Advisory Council. Officials from the National Republican Congressional Committee announced that Mr. Brent C. Kovar has been appointed to service on the Business Advisory Council in recognition of his valuable contributions and dedication to the Republican Party. Mr. Kovar will serve the State of Florida and is expected to play a crucial role in the Party's efforts to involve top business people in the process of government reform both at the state and federal levels.....

1. I think the real problem is that....
they don't want us linking to whistleblower websites because too much top-secret government info. gets leaked out, together with a fair amount of spin.

3. If the moderators are going to delete, I think it is incumbent
on the moderator to explain why this site is unreliable. I have not heard anyone refute the facts as stated. I know it is being ignored...but that is a different situation than fabricating the facts.

4. I've been reading "Mad Cow" for years...but it's a definite No/No here
Edited on Fri Aug-18-06 07:45 PM by KoKo01
and who knows why. They also lock anything from "Anti-War.com" because it's not an "approved site," yet a high level Reagan Administration official posts there constantly along with other former Govt. officials from other administrations.

It beats me...and no one has ever explained it that I've seen here. Your thread will be locked and that's it. If you don't like it then there's a "tombstone" waiting for your name.

6. If you go to Admin, tell them we would all like a list of banned sources
and a reason for each one.

I had some contact with Hoppy when I was working with Paul Thompson on the Timeline. My impression is that he works very hard to develop stories the MSM won't touch. Unfortunately, some of those stories are so far off the beaten path -- you should read Barry & The Boys and his other stuff on CIA Group 40 and the Kennedy Assassination -- that he's got a vague aura of being disreputable. I think it's just the subject matter, and he's diligent, skilled investigative researcher. He should not be on the banned list.

As for AntiWar.com, Justine put up some articles that were highly critical early on of the neocons and Israeli espionage inside the US (something which Hoppy did too), and he became the target of a concerted character assassination campaign. Very undeserved reputation for anti-semitism resulted that got him banned here by some Mods. He's also a gifted, cutting edge investigative writer, and some of the articles published on there are first-rate. The Lesser NeoCons article is a must-read. Again, we should talk to Admin about getting him back off the shit list.

How do you want to go about doing this, OAITW? I suggest a petition - I'm sure kpete and some of the others will be glad to sign on. Use my name, if its still worth anything after the Israel-Lebanon flame wars. A lot of people aren't here anymore, and I miss some of them on the other side, such as Nadine B.

I think there should be some kind of amnesty, and would support that measure, too.

7. Thanks for posting Mark.
I'm not trying to throw a gauntlet down, but we need to know what sources are banned...and why. Saying a source is unreliable is not acceptable. If one makes that determination, than there has to be documented proof. Because the the mainstream media is afraid to publicize a story does not make it ficticious...in fact, that's why we are in the mess we are today. People not reporting reality. If we did that, and DU certainly has the horsepower to create the visibility, then we can start to change what's wrong with this countery. If we hide behind the political acceptiblility of what the MSM says is OK...what's the point?

9. Hopsicker has boldly gone where no member of the Press Corpse dared tread.
For instance, he found connections between the Bush Transnational Criminal Enterprise and drug running. He also documented connections between Atta and the BFEE, including Jack Abramoff and Wally Hilliard. I've heard him talk with Dave Emory and he sounds like someone who's interested in getting the fascists out of Washington and the gangsters out of the White House.

It's understandable why ABCNNBCBSFauxNoiseNutwork won't touch his stuff anymore. Corporate McPravda's why Dim Son still has a 37-percent approval rating or so. If they were to post the truth, including what Danny has found, that number would go near-zero PDQ.

Once ALL sources were allowed here. It's why DU is a resource quoted around the world. DUer bobthedrummer called it "open source" information. Things would be OK, IMO, just as long as a poster was clear where the information came from.

DU has played a big role in changing Bush's numbers from 90-percent approval to the current 1-in-3 vicinity. To do so required finding information from sources that weren't always smooth, slick, sweet and ready for mass consumption. People weighed the official version and what DUers wrote and DU presented a better case. If all DUers could use was stuff from The Washington Post, a bunch more Americans would still believe that Saddam Hussein was behind 9-11.

What to do about Danny and other sources on DU? The idea of a petition is good place to start. Count me in if I can be of service in this regard. As always, Never Old and In The Way, you take the high road. We are ALL better for it.
