Should a Democratic Candidate be worried about having their
campaign headquarters phones tapped? How would they know if this is actually done by the cooperating phone company ?

1. Of course they are tapped. Communication should be via
carrier pigeons or sign language.

4. I always throw in a few keywords to trigger
their attention anyway.

You know, stuff like "That show last night really BOMBED".

3. They have nothing to worry about.

Of course their phones are tapped; but only in the interest of national security. Even if the bushies learn something that could be to their political advantage, they would never use it. They're only interested in protecting the murican people. :sarcasm:

5. They should rest assured, with complete confidence and total security
in the certain knowledge that they are absofuckinglutely being surveilled electronically by the opposition.

The phone company is probably not involved as a willing participant. However if the phone company were involved the victim would never know. There are loads of private "security" companies and former alphabet agency spooks who can fulfill the Republican Party's electronic surveillance needs, probably at below cost basis out of the goodness of their pro-Fascist hearts, plus several defense contractors who develop eavesdropping hardware and software who would also be glad to help to our 2 party system act as a One Party dictatorship.

6. It's just a new wrinkle...
No worries, Bush is tapping their phones (and probably secretly searching their homes and offices in the middle of the night), but at least they know it (or have no excuse for not knowing it).
