19 AUGUST 1934
This is just a little too scary to ignore:

73 Years ago today, a plebiscite in Germany approved the vesting of sole executive power in Adolph Hitler as Fuhrer.

1. Yep, looks like we're one judicial decision away from the same
thing, doesn't it?

2. No, it doesn't.
First off, in 2 years bushco will be gone. Second of all, both the SC and lower CTs have dealt bush defeats in regard to Executive Power.

4. If the courts overturn that ruling then it won't matter what happens.
bush** will be able to whip out the old unitary executive privilege bullshit and he will be able to override or negate ANY action or ruling or law that the judiciary or the legislative branches make.

And yes, there have been rulings against the criminal cabal in the courts. But none of them have gone to the root of the problem, none of them have even made the bush** administration slow down in their continual subversion of the Consitution and the rule of law in this country. He keeps appending his signing statements to every piece of legislature that the House and Senate enact. (The latest being his little literary masterpiece he attached to the Pension Bill last week.)There is absolutely now way to tell how Alito or Scalia will vote when push comes to shove. None. They owe their positions to bush** and his criminal backers, who's to say that this won't be the big payback time? Thomas is obviously going to sell the American people out. Roberts, I just don't trust the guy. Constitutional law is not his strong point. The same with Alito and Scalia.

And all of this, every damn bit will impact on what happens when the guy does finally vacate OUR White House. We may just end up with another disgusting criminal or a loser who's willing to front for the worst people who ever wormed and plotted their way into positions of power in the history of the country. Who knows what form it will take? Rigged elections? Martial law that prevents the 2008 election? A repeat of 2000?

3. It is also the anniversary of a round of executions
following the Salem Witch trials - August 19, 1692.

Hmmm.
