It's official. I am now a registered Democrat

I recently moved and not only changed my address, but my party affiliation from Independent (30 years) to Democrat.

I wish to thank George W. Bush, the Republican Party, their Fundie base, and, of course, DU, for finally making me see the light.

Just wanted to share this. A PROUD new member of the Democratic Party.

I don't know what your beliefs are or what you expect from the Dems - it is currently (IMHO) at a crossroads and may turn out to be a solution or part of the problem.

I was a registered indy for 20 years and switched to Dem this past February, so I know where you're coming from.

27. I did that in '03,

in time for the '03 primary. I'd voted for plenty of Democrats during my voting life, but never belonged to a party before.

To be honest, I liked the Party better before I got to know it up close and personal. I've been disappointed in many elements of party politics. It keeps reminding me why I chose Independence all those years.

The "D" remains on my registration, and if the Democratic Party would like to present candidates I can be enthusiastic about and positions on issues I can honestly support, I'll be there working. If not, I won't.
