Bush and the Constitution
Edited on Sat Aug-19-06 03:06 PM by MJDuncan1982
Constitutional Oath:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will. . .to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The President swears (or affirms) to preserve, protect and defend the CONSTITUTION...not just the Executive Branch. A proper President recognizes her/his role and respects when s/he is checked by another branch.

That is all.

6. He included a "Signing Statement"
therefore previously spoken Oath became/is invalid.

7. He thought the chief justice said, "disturb, dissect and append."
If that was the oath he was taking, he's upheld it completely!

8. Fox News Appears To Think We Have Too Many Rights
Fox News, the conservative mouth organ, appears to believe we have too many Constitutional rights. See the disgusting clip at http://www.eyesonfox.org/?p=26.

While not exactly pure-bred Bushies - Fox News does once in a while critize Bush when he isn't radically conservative enough - they're pretty darn close.

11. Come on, Y'all. Read it again. Bush has a clear out hen he is
hauled off to court. ... "to the best of my ability" is his key to acquittal. The Stump has no ability of any kind.

12. Unfortunately,
you've probably hit it on the head. He hasn't got the ability to make a determination between right and wrong....He does as he's told, and the bosses didn't take any oath....!
