George W Bush should resign the Presidency. |
|
He has lost the trust of all Americans, except the most blind partisans. He cannot regain this trust. He has lied too many times. Things are only going to get worse under George W Bush. Why should America be asked to suffer any longer under these lies and incompetence? How much longer can he continue to spout the lies about "victory" and "democracy"? There is no victory and there is no democracy. There is only self deception and propaganda. Why should we have to wait any longer? George W Bush should resign immediately.

I don't think even if we won every single seat up for grabs in November that this asshole would resign. He's not a quitter like Nixon. He'll stay and fight and try to accuse us of being evil partisan hacks.
I'm sure Rove and crew have contigency plans to make sure they never lose power at the White House.

16. I wouldn't bet on it. |

Let's not forget, he's a very arrogant man, and he isn't smart enough to know when to go. The only way to get him out before 2009 will be impeachment.

puppeteers would allow it. They are too evil and arrogant to relinquish power willingly. They will all have to be dragged out of there kicking and screaming, even after they have lost the election. I am sure Dimson will be clinging to the door jambs and will have to be carried out bodily.

REMEMBER Bush's desire to push through a "National Sales Tax" (now being called "The Fair Tax")?
Here's what he had to say about it in 2004:Problem is, Junior got a little sidelined by (among other things) the War in Iraq, the Plame leak, and a little hurricane we like to call "Katrina." Fast forward to YESTERDAY...White House Advisors Remind Nation of Strong Economy http://www.thinkandask.com/2006/081906-bush.htmlRecently appointed treasury secretary Henry Paulson's first session as President George W Bush's chief economic advisor was held 18 August at Camp David, MD. In Paulson's view, "getting out of Washington DC provided a productive session. ---SNIP--- "I would just add one thing to that," said (Edward) Lazear (chairman, Council of Economic Advisers), "and that is that the president is very much aware that the American people are calling for simplification of the tax code and for a tax code that is both fair and pro-growth. And that was definitely on the table and a subject of discussion. So, that was something that he's been thinking about for a number of years now, and it's alive and well, and, I would say, an active part of the discussion." Now, part of that statement is playing to the "base"...because a "National Sales Tax" would probably be the greatest gift Bush could possibly give to the "have mores" (even though his own "Tax Advisory Panel" shot it down as a patenly BAD idea)...but my reason for posting this in response to you is that he's still thinking that he's going to finish off his "agenda." Nuke Iran, sign off on a National Sales Tax. I don't see it happening, BUT...:patriot:

8. okay, i'll make the obligatory observation: |
|
the real danger is that Unka Dick will become incapacitated or impeached, and Junior will become president. If you thought the incompetence of neo-con evil was bad, just wait until we get the incompetence of messianic stupidity.

10. I don't think it would make any difference |
|
I was reading this article the other day, actually I have read a lot of articles that say the same thing, it was an article disagreeing with the war on terror, and saying that it's bogus because you can't have a war on an idea, and all the war on terror is, is a war against being against the policies of America that are about what we do to other countries.
So even if you say, ok then we will just kill everybody who is against it, it still won't work, it will even just make it worse, because let's say that I am an anti-American in one of the countries and you kill me, well then everybody in my family, and all of my friends are automatically going to get mad at you. So you kill all of them. But then everybody in their families and all of their friends etc get mad at you and by then probably some other people who didn't even know me or any of my friends but are just against us all getting killed. So you see how it is true, you can't win a war on being against you killing people or occupations just by killing more people and occupying more places. Because it is an idea.
So I got to thinking, and I do think that is true. But it goes both ways. You could get rid of Bush but he is not the only one who thinks that being against American policies is a terrorist, because that is an idea too. I mean the whole idea that we are the boss of everything and everybody has to obey us. That is just as much an idea as the idea that we are not the boss of everything etc.
And then I was thinking about that book this guy wrote called the Clash of Civilizations or something like that, and he was talking about it is all these differences in culture and religion that are why there is going to be all these huge wars about ideas. And maybe he does think that, and it looks like he is definitely right about the huge wars about ideas. But I don't think the ideas are really ones about cultural differences or Christianity versus Islam, I think the idea is just whether America is the boss or not.

11. We have to remember, Bush is not the sole problem |
|
nor will our problems go away if and when he does. His resignation or impeachment would only begin to solve our problems, not end them. Certainly, we would be better off without him, much like the Iraqis are "better off" without Saddam Hussein, but that would be a small victory with a big price to pay, and a long road to daylight again.
This close to the midterm elections, we need to focus on ridding ourselves of all the enablers, all the ones who are being manipulated by those who truly have their hands on the levers of power, and keep our eye on the ball. Neocons, Rightwing think tanks, the Fundamentalist Right, the defense industry, and corporate media all have a hand up the back of our entire federal government. We need to pull the curtains back and show the world the puppetmasters.
If we let ourselves become obsessed with only getting rid of the puppet, the laugh will truly be on us.

What's good for Ole' Willy is good enough for Georgey Boy.
The stain that will do him in is from the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent dead in Iraq and elsewhere.
That is if this party has the leadership and spine to take back Congress this coming election.

18. Bush resigning is a very bad idea |
|
Sure, Bush is an idiot. Ever see David Letterman's Top 10 Bush moments? It's a hoot: http://sknabt.eyesonfox.org/?p=16That said, if Bush resigns the shadow president, 'Dead-eye' Dick Cheney, assumes full command. Naw, I don't think that's such a good trade.
