Political ads....
Starting to see some ads now. Won't mention specifics cause I don't remember any.

Did notice the difference between the Repug ad and the Demo ads.

* Repug ad....fairly slick ad...soothing voice...mostly about things we all are for.... kids...moms...apple pie...flags, saving America....and other good stuff...I was almost ready to vote for it....if I didn't understand the reality behind it.

* Demo ad....mostly about facts...what was voted for...what the guy stood for...ad was more rationally based...but didn't quite "grab" emotionally.

Americans are constantly bombarded by well researched and funded ads....selling everything.

Much research and effort goes into these....mostly how to appeal psychologically and emotionally to viewers without them having to think about it too much?

Which is why we have faster cars along with peak oil...very tasty food and a bunch of really fat people.

Everybody likes kids...moms...apple pie...flags and other good stuff...so if you can hide what you are really up to behind these emotionally appealing things...there's no limit to what you can do?

Which is why we have a farce of a democracy...that is really bordering on facism?

1. Republicons are great at advertising
Campaigning is their forte. Governing gives them problems because they dislike government and they don't think too much of the working class either.

2. most is "white noise" now..
The effective ads are ones that show HOW ads fool and manipulate.. Like the "trust" anti-smoking ads.

There is a nice one running now, standard election ad format, promoting the candidate "bag of leaves".. . . semi-patriotic soothing music behind - "Good for America"
