Poll question: How soon will Hillary drop out in 2008 Primaries? |
|
Yes, I know. It's all speculative. But I believe that IF Hillary runs in 2008, she will do poorly in the primaries and never even get a chance at getting the nomination.
So, when will Hillary drop out in 2008 Primaries?

1. You know, she's not even in the primaries |
|
nor is she a candidate. We should worry about how we're gonna get more democrats elected in 2006 first

...somehow people think she's going to be the nominee (not here at DU necessarily) and presume she will be nationally accepted enoug to win the primaries and go on to become the nominee.
I'm convinced that if she runs, she won't get far.
AND...
I'm working on a couple campaigns in my state to get Democrats elected in 2006...but I like looking at the Big Picture too...

5. But doing the whole "hilary can't win" thing |
|
is just another way to bash democrats. It doesn't help dems, just helps rethugs.

7. Facing reality is not bashing anyone |
|
If "Bashing" HIllary because she would be the greatest uniter for Repugs to get out and vote against her as well as many polls from Democrats who would not vote for her (including many women), then I guess no discussion about the obvious is in order.

6. Yes, to distract us from the real campaigns going on |
|
Hillary can be very divisive in the democratic party. Repukes love keeping her name as a potential 2008 candidate because too many of us stop what we're doing to worry that far ahead.
Worry about 2006 -that's the most important race right now. After 2006 elections you can post all the 'Will Hillary Run' threads galore and debate it to death. Right now this thread is nothing more than a distraction from what is really happening right now.

9. Start your own thread about the importance of 2006 elections ferchrissakes |
|
I know the importance. I'm doing a lot of work (web sites) and volunteer work for candidates in 2006...I know the dealio.
This thread is about the viability of Hillary in the primaries in 2008. And yes, people can discuss that...

10. Iowans certainly are a great demographic of a lot of moderate Dem voters |
|
I've hung out in Iowa in the past and my perception of people there is that they reflect what a lot of Americans think and are as a people. There are also more minorities than most people stereotypically think there as well.
If Hillary isn't doing well in Iowa, I doubt she would do well in New Hampshire or any of the other states vying for position in the early part of the 2008 primary schedule.
