My ten minutes of limbaugh today |
|
Had to make an essential beer run today. Can't get AAR in the truck so tuned into dumbass for a few minutes. Some yahoo with a british accent subbing and pondering the point of whether its justified questioning the patriotism of those who want us to "lose" in Iraq. He's in such agreement with rush. Why, we "lost" in Vietnam; do we really want to "lose" in Iraq because those without a patriotic bone in their body oppose our efforts?
Can someone help me out with information about limbaugh's contribution to the fight in Vietnam? Did he take shrapnel? Lose Blood? Serve bravely? Ditto with hannity, savage, coulter, o'lielly, cheney, bush?
Don't you know these sissy boys hate reading about how they never served, never "stayed the course," never stood a watch, never patrolled in a combat zone, and have done absolutely nothing to "support our troops." Oh, they are badasses behind a microphone, but you'll never find them behind the lines. I am very confident in my patriotism.
Maybe its patriotism envy from the sissy boys who have no concept of an I love me wall.

Rush was selling it (half his show was about people sending him pictures yes he actually talked about photographs on a radio show) for all he was worth when his drug problem looked like it might dump his ass in jail.
I heard one day as he went on and on about it. Lots of Gitmo jokes (you know the type) and at the end ...to himself... he asked if he would give the money to a soldier's fund, something for diasbled vets....Rush paused a moment and then answered himself... NO that is what capitalism and entrepreneurship is all about.

3. "Lose" the war in Iraq -- what a concept. |
|
Do they honestly think it's a "win/lose" war? Like somebody's going to wave a flag and surrender, or something??
It's already lost. What the Hell do they think can be "won?"
Idiots. They've got NOTHING -- no argument -- so they make shit up about what WE want, think, feel, do, believe, etc...

4. Why actually play on the field... |
|
when you can sit on your fat ass and clap your hands and give high fives all around every once in a while when somebody makes a good play? Oh, and you get to boo everytime the other team scores.

5. Limpballs had an 'anal cyst' |
|
which translates to a pain in the ass. "There are similar stories about almost every other prominent rightwing Republican of recent vintage. Newt Gingrich, ex-Speaker of the House, went the Cheney route ; Kenneth Starr, Clinton's legal nemesis, had psoriasis; Jack Kemp, Dole's running mate in 1996, was unfit because of a knee injury, though he heroically continued as a National Football League quarterback for another eight years; Pat Buchanan had arthritis in his knees, though he soon became an avid jogger.
The best story concerns Rush Limbaugh, the ferociously bellicose radio personality, who allegedly had either "anal cysts" or an "ingrown hair follicle on his bottom". It is not my custom to mock others' ailments, but anyone who has listened to Limbaugh's programme can imagine the dripping scorn he would bring to the revelation that a prominent Democrat had skipped a war over something like that. Also, in his case, a pain in the arse is peculiarly appropriate."

He got out of the draft because of an "inoperable pilonidal cyst" and "a football knee from high school."

I don't go there for fear blood would start seeping from my ears. Although I have very low blood pressure normally, 20 seconds is about all it takes for mine to go through the roof if I turn on his show.
My health is too important to me, and so is yours.
Stop it! :)

8. Maybe we are losing because there aren't enough Repukes in the army |
|
and Rush should be the first to go. Dems, gays, & foreigners need to be removed from the military. The military should only consists of folks that voted for Bush. Then the enlistment age can be moved to 55
That chickenhawk got out of Vietnam by having some boil on his ass. His dad had the same condition, but still managed to fight in WWII.

14. You should get a new radio. |
|
Mine has this setting called "FM". The stations usually come in more clearly. And they play music which is really a heck of a lot more enjoyable than listening to political rants every minute of the day.

15. Well, I hope you've learned your lesson... |
|
You have to keep in mind that these guys (everyone on talk radio except the few progressives) talk in WOVEN PROPAGANDA.
That is, they weave false assumptions in with misrepresentations inside straw man arguments wrapped in lies, covered in hypocrisy all while served with bouncy bumper music (which, IMO, is the worst part of the Al Franken show - please get rid of the Grateful Dead bumpers).
The point is that if a regular person listens to only a few minutes of right wing talk, and if they haven't otherwise kept active track of the TRUTH (thanks to AAR and DU), you can be sucked into what they're saying because they dump all of the stuff at once, your rational mind won't be able to reject it all and some of the sludge will seep through and poison you!
You CAN listen to Rush, but you have to commit to spending a lot of time dissecting what he said, then spend even more time "debriefing" yourself while mentally listing all of the falsehoods that he's able to include in even short bursts....

16. If I wanted to waste my time I'd send him this website ..... |
|
if he's so damned concerned about who is a patriot (in his estimation) and who is not. Link: http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html This is the site that tells of the military service (or NOT) of various public figures. See if you see a pattern here.

on my work shift, I am the only one against the Iraq war. AND I am the only one who has served and who has consistently sent care packages to the troops, this war AND the last gulf war. What is wrong with this picture?

21. Okay kiddies let Uncle Rush build you a straw man! |
|
Typical Rush or, in this case, dittohead guest host thickly sliced baloney. Let's debate, Rush style.
First we build some straw man. Let's see. Liberals are opposed to the continual incompetence and failure in Iraq. So, let's rephrase that so the right-wing droolers in the audience will get the exact message they want to hear. I know! Liberals are a bunch of "cut 'n runners" who obviously hate democracy.
Gee, now that I've constructed a straw man an 8-year-old can debate let me rant for 3 hours about how liberals hate America and should all be exiled to Siberia.
Rush is #2 in radio, I believe, behind Paul Harvey. Is that scary or what?
