Feingold to Adlai Stevenson. Two great men that will never go all the way?

1. A very interesting and apt comparison.....I do see a difference...in 1952

Stevenson represented the mainstream of the Democratic party which was pretty liberal for its time. Today, Feingold is considered a leftist, progressive Democrat in a party that is MUCH more conservative than it was 20 years ago.

My party, the same one I've loved since I came of age in 1972, has been neutered and its about time I admitted it.

I think you're right-the two men share a lot in common. But the times are different and Feingold will have a harder time of it than Stevenson. I wish him only the best.

3. Stevenson did represent the mainstream of the

Democratic Party but the hawks were rearing their ugly head. Look at the problems JFK had with the military. It is a different time and Feingold does not represent the climate of the country.
