Let us dispense with any notion that Hillary is not committed to Lamont

Not that there has truly been any doubt as Hillary been a loyal and committed Democrat all along!!

A source in the Clinton campaign has confirmed that Clinton will do "an event" with Lamont. While no one seems to know what form that event will take, the Clinton source said it was up to Lamont and Swan. Hillary would do whatever they asked.

In addition, Howard Wolfson will be joining Team Ned:

Howard Wolfson will serve on an advisory role to help coordinate the national democratic response to Lieberman.

Wolfson's specialty is rapid response, and it is in that capacity that he'll help Lamont and Democrats respond to whatever crap Lieberman and Dan Gerstein peddle.

Finally, Hillary will raise money for Lamont.

So personal time, a top advisor, and money. Not a bad haul.

1. I remember Howard Wolfson when
he helped get Hillary elected in New York(2000)..I was still was corporatemedia then and I liked him enough to always look for his name after that.

This sounds like a progressive step..Tom Swan in no slouch, himself.

2. Hillary might be DLC, but she's no fool.
Also, she's a very good Senator. In spite of a couple of bad votes she still with progressives almost all the time. I imagine that support for Lamont was a no-brainer for her.

It would be *very* nice if she travelled to Conn and stood beside him. But, that would be something that Ned would have to want. Just maybe he's happy just taking her support from a distance. This, because of Hillary's radioactivity with the right wing loonies.

3. My understanding is...
That Hillary has already been asked to do an event in Connecticut, and has accepted.

5. I have mixed feelings...
not about her support, but about the sending of the campaign advisors from Hillary and Harry Reid. Stephanie Cutter and Howard Wolfson may be very nice people...but they are going to change the nature of the campaign. There won't be any thing they don't control tightly, and that will be sad.

I guess he has to do it, but I hate to see it. I guess Tom Swan will be pushed off the stage by these two powerhouse advisors.

I wish DC would stay out of it and let him run his campaign. I wish it were to the point he could afford to do it his way.

Oh, well.

But she still won't win a general election in 2008.
