Concord – Some of the state Senate candidates have raised more money for their races than some of the Executive Council candidates.
The first contribution and expenditure reports for candidates were due yesterday with the Secretary of State's office, along with reports from state political action committees involved in state races.
Candidates who have spent more than $500 on their campaigns are required to file reports.
The state Democratic Party raised $540,936 for the reporting period, spent $486,246 and has $54,690 remaining.
The Republicans did not do as well, raising $90,396, spent $81,163 and have $10,563 remaining. Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's Commonwealth PAC gave the party $20,000 and Guinta for Mayor donated $19,000.
