Republican Core Values? What a national joke.
Let's look at a few of them ......

Reduce the size of government

Well, to quote the Republicans usual answer for everything ..... "Clinton did it". What the Republicans have given us is the biggest and most dysfunctional (use that word, people, cuz it is TRUE) government in the history of our nation. Virtually very Democrat who's spoken on this specific point has said (s)he would reduce the government back to an effective size.

Fiscal responsibility

Oh do they love this one. Well, once again, as they so love to say ...... "Clinton did it". What the Republicans have done is pure anathama to any self-righteous Republican. They've not only broken the bank with their profligate spending for an unnessecary war, they've cut spending in areas that truly need it. All the while, they've cut our nation's revenue stream. The current crop of Republicans are the most fiscally irresponsible administration in our nation's history. They've destroyed the bedrock middle class, they've destroyed the economy, they've destroyed our social safety net, they've destroyed our balance of trade, they've destroyed our credit worthiness, they've made us fiscally vulnerable as the biggest debtor nation in world history. The only thing they've improved is the personal fortune of the top 1% of our citizenry - people who could care less about our country, really, since they have the financial means to exist above political realms. Most Democrats, when speaking specifically to this issue, see things very differently from their Republican counterparts. A balanced budget *is* their goal.

National security

Our national security is a national crisis. For them, subjecting innocent people to the regimens normally reserved for crime suspects passes for 'security'. In fact, our borders are more porous, our ports more vulnerable, our air cargo is vulnerable, our industrial sites are vulnerable. The list goes on. Our foreign policy has been one of belicose non-engagement with nations who pose a threat and dismissive disengagement with those who woujld be our allies. We are, truly, alone. All the while, our military has been stretched to the breaking point. As General Batiste said just this week, the government has been feeding the military bowls of chicken feces and asking them to make chicken soup. There is not one single Democrat who would allow the current security sham to continue. There is not one single Democrat who would not have gone after bin Laden hammer and tong. There is not one single Democrat who would coopt the illusion of security for personal gain.

Freedom

This is simply a joke. Our citizens are less safe abroad, thereby limiting our freedom to travel. Our citizens are constantaly being poked and prodded, searched and questioned, challenged to prove their identity, and subjected to covert eavesdropping. We are arguably less free as Americans now than at any time in our nation's history. We are, indeed, being Sovietized. Our children no longer have th freedom to attend the university of their choice as the cost has passed the ability of many of their parents to pay - even after mortgaging their own retirements. We are less free to choose our health care options as the cost has now exceeded the ability of most companies and individuals to bear. We are shamefully less free than most other countries to remain healthy. Democrats, to a person, would be on the otjher side of every draconian policy wrought by thge cabal that has stolen our country.

Republican core values? We OWN these values. Not the Republicans of today.
