Their boycott hasn't hurt the Chicks' record sales, but has hurt their concert attendance.

a presale, half the floor seats were gone and this was way before the tickets were to go on sale. Now I have to come up with something else for my birthday though, at my age I don't know what. Maybe the Aerosmith concert or something. I really miss the country I grew up in. I hate with every molecule in my body these fake "patriots" with their attack on free speech and the American way.

I don't particularly like Santana - just that particular track partly because I also like dancing to it. Saw Santana here live a few years back and was much more impressed with the back up band which was UB40 - they were awesome live.

you have a listen to his live album, Sacred Fire. It's worth it! I saw him live, too, but his back-up band was Los Lobos, not my fave.

there and John Mayer's song "Waiting on the World to Change" is very good also.
I put the Chicks first, of course. I want them to break the record but it is good to have other awesome, progressive songs up on the list too.
Outkast's "Idlewild Blue" is dedicated to the Katrina survivors. It is good too.
After you vote it turns the songs you picked into a playlist and plays all the video.

22. You have to scroll down through the list of videos to get to theirs. |
|
Once you find it, you click on it and drag it over to the #1 spot on the left.
I hope that helps. I didn't get it at first either. :)

I was in Canada in '98 and everywhere I looked there was a Dixie Chicks flyer. (heck I wish I woulda grabbed one lol) It was obvious that they were playing every venue that would have 'em in the Northwoods.
They did it the right way IMO.

46. Putting on my flame suit -- I'm not crazy about the DC |
|
I don't "support" musicians because I like their politics (although I certainly approve of Natalie Maines' politics). I buy CDs because I like the music and frankly, what I've heard of their new record hasn't made me want to run out and buy it. And I did buy their second (?) CD, "Fly." It had some good tunes on it.
Bluntly put, I'm a banjo player and I'm not impressed with the Chicks' banjo player. Their vocals are uniformly good but there's just no hook there for me. "Not ready to make nice?" Sure. But I'm not ready to buy their records. If I want to make a political statement, I'll contribute money to a campaign or political organization.
Flame away.

And Carlos Santana, by the way, has been making exceptional music for several decades now!

49. Most bluegrassers play multiple instruments |
|
I play three on stage myself, and two others that we already have in the band. I've heard Emily play a good bit; when they first came out I was curious and so I listened to a lot of their stuff. She's competent but nowhere near jaw-dropping. Most real bluegrassers would smoke 'er.
Purely a matter of personal taste, but I'm just underwhelmed by the Chicks.

These girls were associated with my first clash with a friend converted by the freepers. I knew something more than financial oppression was underway when he slipped into a pre programmed tirade about them Bad mouthing the Shrub while at an English concert. He about lost it when I pointed out that they - and I - were not required to kiss the fuhrer's ass. It was as if they had left a Faux News pod in his bed room....
