Is your primary vote influenced by how the race looks when you vote?
I'm curious as to whether most people on DU choose a candidate before any primaries or caucuses begin and then stick with the candidate all the way through (assuming he/she doesn't drop out) OR whether DUers are more likely to change their votes based on how things look at that point. For example, "I'm going to vote for X to keep Y from getting too far ahead", or "I'm going to vote for Z because Q isn't doing so well and at least Z has a shot" -- stuff like that. Is your primary vote independent of or dependent on how well each of the current candidates is doing at the time you vote?

1. My vote doesn't count
And, in fact, my vote shouldn't matter, since I live in Indiana, and our primary isn't until May.

2. No, I went to my first Dean Meetup 50 miles awayin April of last year
And saw the light then. I'm not changing my vote because the media, or some of you supporters of other candidates tell me I should.

3. No, not this time
This time I am firmly committed to Dean, in the past I have changed, though.

4. Vote your conscious not for prom King.
Though I am loathe to admit it Ralphie Nader had a good point about that fact on NPR Wed or last night.

5. Never.
I always for the candidate "I" want to vote for. Not the candidate the media has chosen.

Go Wes!

6. No. I will vote for Dean or anyone left other than JFK.
The vote is your chance to take a stand.

Don't sell yourself short.

7. Obviously not...
Kucinich is the only candidate who speaks for me. I have been with him from the beginning and will vote for him any time he is on the ballot.

8. DU != average voter
I vote for whom I feel represents my views, and stands the best chance of defending or promoting those views as an elected official.
