Another poll gives Granholm the lead over DeVos, this time 48-43
OK, I've learned not to mention Strategic Vision in the header. Last time I was bombarded with replies it was a GOP firm. Yeah, but it seems to be the only company that releases its polls late in the day so I can notice and post them first.:)

Very good news since Granholm has appeared to be our most vulnerable incumbent gov or senator, but the ad buy is obviously successful since multiple polls now give her the lead over DeVos, and the most recent ones by more than a narrow margin. Her approval rating here is slightly positive, 47-45.

Let me guess: if Strategic Vision lists her ahead by 5, it's really 8+. :)

Other polls, from the Michigan and Washington polls released today by SV: http://www.strategicvision.biz/political/results.htm

* Cantwell 48, McGavick 43

* Stabenow 49, Bouchard 42

I'm still astonished by the expectation of a homeland terrorist attack within six months in these SV polls. The No checks in at 5 and 6% in these two states, with Yes at 79 and 82%. It's gone up maybe 5-7 points in every state since the London incident.

2. Judging by Rossi 51/Gregoire 43 for 2008 in WA poll -- it is a GOP firm :)
Last I checked, Cantwell was, indeed, under 50 but McGavick nowhere near even 40 yet, plus with his DUI et al I would be surprised if his numbers have dramatically improved...

6. Gregoire is closer now than a few months ago
Strategic Vision has been polling the same states over and again. The first time I saw the Washington numbers her approval number was much worse than the current 43-49, and she trailed Rossi something like 51-38.

Yeah, I expected Cantwell to receive a bit of a boost in margin after the McGavick DUI revelation, but this poll was surveyed August 25-27, which was after that story came out.

7. Here is another WA Senatorial poll released today or yesterday
August 28, 2006

In Washington, Cantwell Leads McGavick
In Washington's U.S. Senate race, a new SurveyUSA poll finds Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) beating rival Mike McGavick (R) by a large margin, 56% to 39%.

Key finding: "Cantwell leads by 29 points among women and by 4 points among men, a 25-point "gender gap."

8. And here's the bad news poll from SurveyUSA
Arnold leads Angelides 52-38 in California: http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=1137993a-c120-4ea6-bc97-017dd6931c94

I thought about posting a separate thread with that CA poll, but it's negative and questionable. Hard to believe he leads by that margin but I've never had a shred of optimism about that race. The poll indicates Arnold has big leads among independents (54-29) and women (49-40). That accounts for the difference between that race and others.

5. I actually met DeVos recently
The guy is a total zero. He couldn't even talk intelligently about his own "plan."
