No Republicans In Virginia |
|
We The People are at a loss. It has become apparent that Virginia is missing something.
Living in northern Virginia We The People are blessed with the situation of having a US Congressman named Wolf and a US Senator named Allen. At the state level We The People have all sorts of representatives at the Commonwealth's Assembly. During the 2000 election cycle so many hand-bills were passed out proudly proclaiming "Vote For Me because I am a Republican." Billboards stated Republican before stating the candidates name.
Driving through the northern part of the state, one sees billboards and yard signs that no longer mention party affiliation for Wolf and Allen. What has happened? Is Virginia really a Republican free zone?
Isn't it time the important question of what happened to the Republican Party affiliation be addressed by Wolf and Allen?
Virginia - Republican free zone by default?
Bush Lied. People Died. Media Cheered.

1. Some extremist wingnut claims to "know" why that is the case. |
|
I'll just quote this minister of misinformation.
"having lived in the state off and on for 30 years I only know of 4 billboards in Northern VA
none of them run political ads"
Is one to believe that in all of Northern Virginia there are only four billboards?

2. don't know if its only four, but they are few and far between in NoVA |
|
Not so as you head south and west, but in Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria -- rarely see a true "billboard"

3. That used to be the trend when I was growing up... |
|
.. and I too have noticed it returning. Republicans are not putting their party affiliation on much of their advertising now. 4 years ago, the party affiliation was in the same size font, if not bigger on leaflets, posters, TV commercials, etc.

4. Democrats in Georgia don't put their party on their signs either. |

At least, not in North Georgia where I live.
I have brought this up at party meetings.
Republicans seem to always put their party name on billboards and signs but in the last decade it has been hard to find any Democrats who do.
Ever in the Fourth of July parade they had one little girl out front with a VERY small sigh that said "****** County Democrats" but not the word "Democrat" or Democratic" on the float.
I've been told that it's "consultants" who recommend this.

5. Bush Republicans are edging away from their Boss as fast as |
|
they can.
Their leader is going down the tubes, and they'll all be disassociating themselves from him, and the more agile ones will manage to NOT have him campaign for them.
