Rightwing source implies Soros had Malloy canned
I don't listen to Malloy nor do I follow the the threads on him on the internets so I have no idea if the facts and their spin are true in this piece. Thoughts?

1. It's the RW divide and conquer philosophy

They like to start rumors that pit one Dem vs. another.

4. How do you know it's not a rumor if you say you don't know
if the facts are true or not?

7. ha! good point, so let me rephrase
I highly doubt that the writer would invent the story that a high level LaRouchite was on Malloy's show aired and it aired one day after the Soros-funded Media Matters website ran an article calling LaRouche a "political extremist" who had influenced the book The Shadow Party by conservatives David Horowitz and Richard Poe.

There are other aspects to the story only a nut would put out there as fact if it wasn't. But is it exaggerated? How much spin is it?

9. I suspect the major exaggeration is Soros' influence at AAR. The right
just LOVES to demonize Soros, so I think throwing his name in there is big time spin.

2. Didn't you know? According to the RW, Soros has all of us
under mind-control. Just ask Horowitz.

5. Cliff Kincaid?
There is a highly accurate source. The guy couldn't report the truth if a gun was pointed at his head.

Discard as bullshit.

6. Aren't they the ones who say that Soros is propping up AA with his money?
Of course, they have never provided any evidence of this.

10. AAR and Democracy Radio seem to be combining again.
Tom Athans was head of Democracy Radio, he closed it down and is now a CEO at AAR. He is married to Debbie Stabenow. I found this article at The Nation about how it was all one group in the beginning.

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20050523/vonhoffman

The DR site is closed down and not even in archive form, but I have one of the pages in my files about who helped found it. (can't find it now, have to think of the right search term for power desk)

Someone named Fiddick, used to be in the Clinton administration, Athans, in fact the names read pretty moderate and centrist. I only say that because I see Danny Goldberg is leaving or has left, and several others have already left.

I resent that it is so hard to find out info about who the ones are managing it.

I think maybe Democracy Alliance, of which a major part is the Rappaport family, is or may be planning to be involved.

Anyway the article is interesting from The Nation. While I had not been listening to Malloy much lately, I very much respect the loyalty of those who were. When I heard him, I liked him.

I suspect that AAR is going to be just like everything else...become more and more centrist to appeal to Republicans or to the middle.

That makes me angry.

11. just what we need
more of 'go to that middle ground'....the only problem w/ that is the fundie neo-cons have moved the right so far 2 the right that the middle is now where the moderate right once stood. The middle is toooo far right for me.

12. I am speculating...hard to find info on the situation.
So that is just supposition on my part. Trying to find out anything about who is funding who is impossible.

Somehow I guess I want our side to be better than that.
