Fake Dem YouTube group created by Repubs easily debunked

A friend alerted me this morning to a new smear campaign gearing up -- The Repugs apparently didn't like the fact that Olberman received such huge support over at YouTube so they've set up a fake group claiming it is a Democratic group for sharing favorite videos.

"A place for Democrats to collect and share videos" with all the videos now added this morning. The ones there include a montage of US troops being killed and a smear on the US Marine Corps using Nazi imagery and calling them morons.

Invites to join the group went out this morning.

THIS IS N-O-T A DEM GROUP; it's a plant so the right can claim the left is crazy. Dave Dial has a diary up on YouTube as well, relating to Racists and White Supremicists putting up videos to spread their filth. He quotes the YouTube policy on content:

In connection with User Submissions, you further agree that you will not: ...(iii) submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive...

Consider whether the videos posted to the fake Dem group fall within these parameters and should be flagged to YouTube for removal. Since I haven't checked them out yet, I can't advise one way or the other but will let you know my views as soon as I have a chance to watch what's there (first I have to figure out if watching ups the value of the video--I don't want to do that).

This YouTube group just went up an hour ago, and invites went out immediately. All the members are new, and the group owner looks like someone posted a picture of some chick with boobs.

Huh. It would certainly be interesting if the right-wingers were to start howling about ‘Democrats’ posting montages of US troops being killed, and calling the USMC ‘losers’ and ’scum,’ and doing lots of graphics with swastikas, and baiting Jews, and all that. (Don’t tell them we linked or anything. Let’s just see what happens.)



Not that such an effort hasn’t already started.

Trying to get my web cam working, but maybe someone should join and make video's outing this group maybe alot of video's outing this group, post enough of them and they will have to withdraw the site because it will lose all credibility.

I should know, I'm a member there and have complained to the higher-ups about it numerous times. To no avail. Either they don't care, or.....
