1. can we define issues that concern us? |
|
i looked for sections of the "PartyBuilder" that addressed ending the war in Iraq (or even foreign policy in general) and addressed Workers' rights ...
specifically, i looked at the Petitions section ... can anyone create a Petition on any topic or are we limited to topics that the Party controls?
also, on the Petitions page, there were a number of categories of people ... no anti-war category of course ... why not?
and i also noticed that there were several categories for Union people but no general category for workers ... many workers are not Union members ...
is the public able to create new categories of people to form their own "communities" with the PartyBuilder website?
i haven't read most of the pages there yet so perhaps i've missed something ... i just hope that the site will be a place that ALL voices in the Party will be able to participate ... if the goal is greater inclusiveness, that's an essential ingredient ...

2. Those are great questions |
|
There's a "contact" form there. Definitely worth asking. (I'm not familiar with it myself yet -- just signed up this afternoon.)
It looks like it's pretty easy to create groups within the broad categories...

3. wt, I asked your questions... |
|
I'll let you know what I hear back.
Meanwhile, why not try creating an Anti-War group there? It's another way to form connections, coalesce around a position, and be HEARD!!
(The letter-writing section is a great tool, too.)

The "MAIN" categories come up first:
Candidates and Campaigns (36) Issues (9) Official Groups (5) People (78) Everything Else (11) Local (46) Other Organizations
Click "ISSUES" and you get these:
Civil Rights (1) Education (0) Environment (1) Health Care (1) Misc (0) Economic Growth (0) Election Reform (1) Foreign Policy (1) Honest Government (2) National Security (2)
So that's where Foreign Policy comes in.
