Does anyone watch Washington Journal on C-span |
|
my new favorite show. Partly a call-in show concerning the subject at hand. Several during the course of 3 hours. Today the question was " what is the most important issue that congress has to vote on before recess".
Today(call in) from a disabled 44 year old woman in MO who's hubby >delivers pizzas for a living
DRUM ROLL, please!!!!
We need to support Bushit on privatization of social security
Now tell me...How much is she going to have to invest on a pizza delivery income?

we also used to have an active CSPAN group. I posted the schedule nightly. it appeared that people lost interest so we stopped participating.

2. There's almost always an active WJ thread every morning. |
|
Something informal just seemed to work better for some of us, I guess (although I do miss your posted schedule).

I would support it but it would be in the evening. IF I get on DU in the morning, I will never get off and go to work

3. Lots of clueless repukes call in....and |
|
the screeners are careful not to let too many Dems - especially well-informed Dems - through. Wash. Journal is the baby of Brian Lamb who hosts on Fridays, and, in topic and choice of guests, it's heavily skewed to repukes.

9. That's the reason I quit watching |
|
Too many clueless repukes calling in......their tone and attitude is sickening. It's like they all carry a big chip on their shoulder. They do personal attacks on the Dem callers and the stupid hosts let them drone on and on and on,but when the Dems call they cut them off before they could get out what they wanted to say, most of the time. And that Pedro....he's like he's phucked up on pot or something and that other guy,I can't remember his name,is about as dumb as a bag of rocks. When you find that you are muting the remote more than you should, then it's time to quit tuning in.

It's important to listen to the other side or how are we going to learn to frame our arguments?

12. Just To Be Fair... I've Think I Started Watching From It's Inception |
|
and I have noticed a change in some of the callers. There is definitely some anger coming from the Rethugs. If you're someone who watches all the time, you can pick out some people who call in all the time. Especially that one from Georgia!!
They have been catching more that try to call in before the 30 days are up, but it's still happens!!
So even if Rethugs are saying Dems are calling in on their line, I do know some of the voices and some of those Rethugs have changed their thinking.
But, don't let your guard down... I NEVER WILL!!!

13. I agree, there has been a change |
|
when I see the state flashing on the TV I make the assumption what they will say.....recently I have been wrong. Maybe a few are awakening?? We can only hope

I wish we could have heard what she expected to be able to get from privatization.

6. That is One Problem With the Show |
|
These nutjobs call in and I want the host to question them about their ideas. The host rarely does. I am curious how she thinks privatization of SS will be helpful to her. But she is probably a perfect example of the 37% who support Bush. Terrifying, isn't it?

11. I Watch It Almost Every Single Day & THAT Lady Was Looney-Toons! |
|
She got called out on it by another caller though! I wonder if she knows just how stupid she sounded!
Geez, I can't even dial into the show. Can't tell you how many times I've tried. Got through one time way back around 1988!!
