"We're fighting them over there" so they can kill us over there. |

It is so amazing that those who have lost their lives fighting in Iraq are so not an issue with administration or the public.

5. Yup, but we are not supposed to notice |

Haven't the troops deaths in Iraq equaled the deaths on 9-11? The number of seriously wounded troops in Iraq far exceeds 9-11's. Course we shouldn't count the Iraqis that have died and are alive but maimed.
Welcome eccles 12. Hope you are here long enough to see a change in November! Can we hope?! A few investigations into this admin. should cool the repubs chili somewhat. This will be one hell of an election period for bushco with that idea in mind, they will have All their guns drawn.

fighting "over there" in Iraq is going to keep us from fighting them "over here." If terrorists have the capability of coming over here and fighting us, how in the world has the war in Iraq stopped them? In what specific way?
Any freepers on board, I'd love to hear the answer to this. And while you're at it, I'd like to know exactly, in what specific way will gay marriage "destroy" traditional marriage. Are all men out there in the US just waiting for the green light to chuck their wives and head over to their "buddy's" house?
These are just two of their favorite lines that have absolutely no reasoning behind them. It just feels good to say them, I guess, even if they mean nothing.

If there's a fire, let's just throw a bunch of gasoline on it, shall we? I do like that one, eccles12 - ""We're fighting them over there" so they can kill us over there."
BTW - Solon, yours is GREAT, too! "We're fighting them over there so they can save on the plane ticket."

so we don't inadvertently kill thousands of U.S. citizens trying to fight them over here.
The idea that we are taking the fight to Iraq and thereby drawing to that country malcontents from all over the world, makes me ill. Iraqis are not disposable human beings. You can be damn sure that if we were fighting them "over here" the support for our war would vanish speedily.
