Gawd...David Broder is such a D*ck...says we should apologize to Karl Rove
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 12:38 AM by SaveElmer
Never passes up an opportunity to admonish Democrats for some alleged offense, always equating a Republican misdeed with the misleading notion Democrats are guilty of misdeeds in the same number and severity. He conspicuosly ignores the Republican corruption machine now in charge, and then writes articles like this saying Democrats, and progressive media organizations owe Karl Rove an apology...

He needs to go away now...or honestly evaluate the relative corruption of the two parties and stop trying to be "even handed" (which is a bias in itself).

David, 100 Republican misdeeds does not equate to 1 Democratic misdeed.

And where is your call for a Karl Rove apology for the immense harm he has done to this country! Or the call for an apology by your own paper for their blatant bias in favor of Republcans, or by your fellow "serious" journalists for their lazy and inexact reporting!

2. About that Karl Rove thing...
They did an interview with someone who wrote a book about him yesterday on NPR. Fresh Air, I think. A psychologist or psychiatrist would have a field day with him (Rove). The man has serious mental problems. No joke.

7. He has a defective mind
His critical thinking skills are lacking. This is the guy who thought Watergate wasn't a big deal. And the cretins who control our national discourse look up to him as a "dean," appreciative of the unique view he provides as his head burrows ever deeper up his ass.

Did I mention I detest him passionately?

9. It's lockstep Washington Post mind-set.
This is how they operate lately (Okay, there are a handful of people -- Tom Toles, E.J. Dionne, most international correspondents -- who aren't drinking the Kool-Aid). There's a sort of knee-jerk cosseting of the Bush administration, virulent bashing of anyone who dares cross it. For crying out loud, they even piled on Stephen Colbert as "not funny" and impolite (!) following his performance. Yet Bush is deemed sincere, compassionate, even popular -- until the polls were no longer to be ignored.

Broder has been, morally speaking, quite muddled for the last few years. That he can look at the Bush administration, with all the damage it's caused, with its abuses of power, with its inherent dishonesty, insularity, and ruthlessness, and launch attacks on both Joseph Wilson and Patrick Fitzgerald is mind-boggling. Surely the attack on an apparently unimpeachable figure like Fitzgerald is a personal nadir for Broder.
