AP: Biden Blasts White House Foreign Policy
Biden Blasts White House Foreign Policy

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer

Thursday, September 7, 2006

(09-07) 00:54 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --

Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, a White House hopeful, criticized the Bush
administration's foreign policy and national security strategy as "a dangerous
combination of ideology and incompetence."

"This administration has dug America into a very deep hole with very few friends
to help us out," Biden, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee, said in remarks prepared for delivery Thursday.

"It is time for America to recapture the totality of our strength — our military,
economic, and diplomatic might," Biden said. "That is what won the Cold War.
That is what has gotten lost these past five years."

In his speech for Thursday, Biden contends the Bush administration has failed
in just about every foreign policy endeavor it has undertaken. He also offers
a plan for making the country safer.

1. Where was this courage in 2002 & 2003?
Anybody that gave Bush a blank check back then needs to eat some major crow and apologize to the American people, then before each new criticism, apologize to those who had the balls to stand up to Bush when he was still bending over for him.

What a pathetic piece of shit.

2. Joe, miserable pandering bastard to the credit card companies that he
is, has visions of being the democratic nominee for pResident in 2008. He is demonstrating that his moral convictions can be 'bent' to whatever the current political situation he finds himself in. I mean, right now instead of being a champion of Citibank, he's gonna be the 'people's' advocate for a while.

It won't last.

5. Yeah, but let's give free passes to John Kerry
Seems he was lock step with the rest of them at the time.

There is nothing we can do about 2002-3 we have to start fighting for TODAY so our future can be better.

Be angry as hell at Biden, I don't blame you. But be encourage to the Bidens and anyone else who bought the lie back in 2002 that now is the time to step forward and correct your damn mistake before it gets any worse.

We need all the Democrats questioning the war - all of them!

3. excellent
Biden certainly has the knowledge of credibility to make such statements. We need nationally known and widely covered Democrats out there everyday saying these things in the media.

7. If Biden was president, would he give up neoliberalism and business driven
foreign policy that screws not only Americans but people in other countries?

Knowledgable? Yes.

Credible and trustworthy? If he was walking buy, I'd put a cork in my asshole to protect it, cuz he's already reamed us a lot of times.

Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 05:02 AM by FrenchieCat
and offer up some solution as a Team.....there's always one or two who want all of the limelight and so instead of referring back the plan already offered......they have to step up to a mike and stepp all over the United Democratic message and get it all muddled and stomped on!

Hell, it's not like Biden is running for anything in 2006!

I'm glad he gets press....problem is he always wants to stand alone and act like he's this "leader" instead of acting like a megaphone for the Democratic party in general.....

The reality is, at this point we need a fucking team....not any individual grandstanding!
