..... the debate is out there ..... the two opposing premises that *they've* established are:

1 - Republicans/Bush strong on terror
2 - Democrats/Clinton weak on terror

They don't even need to show the fucking movie. they already have the debate they want. And with every white house actor out there on the Travelling Terror Tour making the same lame-assed speech over and over and getting coverage over and over and with our spokespeople just part of the background noise, they've punk'd us AGAIN.

1. Yes, they have!
And it does not matter that the whole thing is a lie and a complete distortion of the facts..it is debated on every channel and it is repeated over and over...and all the average zombie american hears is that it is ALL Clinton's fault...all the fault of Democrats...Hillary guilty by association..as it all sinks into the collective brain and rambles around with a new does of fear that says to them..."vote republican" because it is better to be safe than sorry.

2. You are so right
They have turned the debate to 9/11.
War on Terror, same as War on Drugs
We should be talking about the failed policies and strategies.
We all get distracted so easily

3. that's what comes from being less than aggressive when dealing
with the republick party.

from deifying reagan to demonizing clinton -- they're getting their bread buttered on both sides.

5. Back two years ago
circa the "swift boating" of John Kerry coupled with the absolutely reprehensible and disrespectful sporting of purple band aids at the RNC, I heard a really apt analogy from a retired and seasoned journalist.

He said the frequent absence of veracity in the news was in part, a by product of the 24/7 news cycle. Back in his day, there were just the morning and evening papers and news shows. Many stories back then required weeks if not months of laborious research.

Now when a story breaks in whatever form, often without verification, it's blasted out by the media incessantly.

He likened that phenomenon to the locomotive of a train. He said, "But the truth lies in the caboose and by the time that comes 'round, people are no longer paying attention."
