8 September - another great day in GOP History |
|
32 years ago today Gerald Ford gave Richard Nixon an unconditional pardon (for being a republican.) They have so much to celebrate. Nixon's freedom, bush's illegal war. Throw another burger on the grill bubba.

I always remembered it was in late summer/early fall, but I completely spaced the exact date.
In retrospect, it was one of the greatest disservices ever done this country. The whole thing should have been inspected closely, the paranoid excesses of that administration publicised, and the guilty sent to prison. In the meantime, the men on the periphery, most of whom have come back again and again, should have been sufficiently disgraced to keep them out of office.
At the time, people accepted it because they just wanted Nixon GONE. They were wrong. He's come back again and again through the men he surrounded himself with and infected with his paranoia, ideas of imperial presidency, and philosophy of winning at any cost, even through illegal means.

3. Bush 43 & Co. have left Nixon in the dust |

The current band of pirates are worse than Nixon and his crew. I really don't think they'll be convicted of anything. Hopefully, the judgment of history will nail them...because nothing else will....probably.
