I'm not saying it isn't true, but it sounds a bit radical for a state like Missouri. I wish she wouldn't have added, "and because they were black" "Because they were poor" got the message across just fine. I've said it a million times, nothing stops people from voting for you in Midwestern and Souther states quicker than crying racism. I hope she knows what she's doing.

It was a gutsy thing to do.

Bush is probably not racist himself, but he responds to GOP priorities. That party does not disavow racists in its midst. On the contrary, it accepts them with open arms. What could be plainer than the fact that blacks have no pull with Bush? And the poor? Please!

What Claire said was true. I really hope the evil Jerry Lewis, Jim Talent, makes an issue of it.
