Oh, Jesus,....... To Think We Were Worried,...
----- Okay, okay,.... I know we weren't supposed to watch this flick,... but I was curious, alright? And at just past the 30-minute mark,... this movie is a cinematic disaster. Forget the politics and propaganda. It's the continuous extreme close-ups,. the rapid and bumpy camera work,.. rapid-fire scene changes .. the staccato dialogue (with a yankee accent, no less),.. and a lot indistinguishable middle-eastern types,.. too many to keep up with,.. and a story line thus far more evasive than bin Laden, himself? I have news for ABC-Disney,... every Bubba, Junior and Darryl in the South has already switched away from this poor imitation of a foreign flick, and they're watchin' the game It ain't what good ol' boys care to try to follow,... Hell, I'm having trouble with it, and I'm a college professor (among other things)... It's just too much of a work-out to watch,.... not at all a good comfortable action-flick. I think the director blew it.

---- Lots of similar comments about the nerve-wracking close-ups, rapid scene changes, jumpy camera work,... It's a joke. Somebody didn't know their audience,...

I won't attempt. Other posters have had similar thoughts as yours. Not only is it propaganda but it's bad propaganda. :-)

6. It's like Syriana, except its target demographic has no attention span
Also, unlike this "documdrama", Syriana was presented as a work of fiction.

8. Propaganda
Propaganda is not known for it's expert cinematic achievements as a rule. I'm sure this fiasco was thrown together in a hurry just in time for the big 9/11 celebration.....no time to make anything other than a piece of crap. The people that swallow this line aren't that discerning about what they watch, so they won't notice anyway.

..and moaning...

It's not on where I live yet.. but the reviews so far are interesting..

DU'ers think the work is shoddy and the acting is pathetic.
Freeps think it sucks because it's not 100% attack Clinton.

31. I checked them out.
They're all quivering, thinking it was compelling and artfully done.

Apparently they're pissed because there was a "news type" show at the end where they allowed counterargument to the movie. First I've heard of this.

36. it was a 15 minute Nightline
Richard Clarke was on and clarified a few things--like that it was Tenet who refused to give the go-ahead, not Clinton. He also said that when neither Clinton or Bush responded to the attack on the Cole, bin Laden was greatly emboldened.

I've heard Clinton speak on this. He said they were desperately trying to get confirmation that it was bin Laden in time for him to do something while still in office, but it came too late, and then Bush dropped it entirely, the idiot.

The Path To 9/11
The Path To 9/11
The Path To 9/11
The Path To 9/11

There are big new developments on the heels of Mickey's - The Path To 9/11, indicating that Bush wasn't just ineffective in dealing with Bin Laden: there may have been a significant relationship between the two before Bush even took office.

According to a source, the federal government has been closely following a pedophilia ring inside Disney's Burbank offices. Disney has been shuffling problem executives that have been using casting calls for new Disney TV productions as a path for finding and isolating children lured by the promise of appearing on Disney-branded shows. Once in a "private screen test", chosen victims were met with a figure in a giant Mickey costume, and forced to sodomize Mickey repeatedly in his furry Mouse ass. The Path To 9/11

The eleven known victims are described as between eight and twelve years of age, and were allegedly molested at the Burbank offices of the Disney company by eight separate high-level Disney executives. Again, as with al Qaeda, the Bush administration made a simple deal: we'll see that the charges get dropped, and in exchange: you work for us. The Path To 9/11

ABC is marketing its docudrama, The Path To 9/11, as "based on The Path To 9/11 Commission Report." But yesterday, writer Cyrus Nowrasteh admitted that the film's most controversial scene was based on nothing at all. Nowrasteh told a radio station that the scene was "improvised." Source: Digg, The Path To 9/11

James Bamford, an author and journalist who has written about security issues, appeared on MSNBC to discuss “The Path To 9/11.” Bamford revealed that an FBI agent who worked as a consultant to the film quit halfway through production of the mini-series because he believed the writers and producers were “making things up.” Source: Digg, The Path To 9/11

Agreed..between the bad hand held 90's cam work, the endless unpronouncable villians and cropped plot lines there is no way an average American would have the patience or interest in this.

29. There WAS Clinton Bashing!
Mostly aimed at his administration and I understand why he wanted the show pulled. Now for tomorrow's show, perhaps they will get into the Bush bashing, but tonight was all about the failure of the Clinton Administration. (sigh)

This was NOT the way to remember 9/11 -- by putting blame.

I was hoping the Clinton trashing would be cut out completely, but if there was more before the editing, then that's all it was to begin with.

Granted, I watched it with a very critical eye.

37. I agree--it's an action movie primarily
It's for people who like action cops-and-robbers type movies. The actual plot is complicated and confusing, to say the least. The acting isn't very good and we don't identify with the characters.

If an uninformed person actually learns anything from this movie, they learn that during Clinton's presidency there were a bunch of FBI and CIA types working tirelessly to fight to keep this country safe--and actually did catch some and send some to prison. Everything else is far too nuanced, if you ask me.
