"No American President should ever be for torture before being against it."

Good One.

The reaction in the crowd was amazing. Both because it was so important to say and because Kerry turned their 2004 theme on them. Kerry had a huge grin after the crowd gave him a long standing ovation!

One of the other things that Democrats should repeat:

"They cut and run even as we learn from Pakistani intelligence that the mastermind of the most recent attempt to blow up American airliners was an al Qaeda leader operating from Afghanistan – yes, from Afghanistan. That’s right – the same killers who attacked us on 9/11 are still plotting attacks against America and they’re still holed up in Afghanistan. "

Bush attacked Saddam because he wanted to - and ignored the enemy that attacked us - and they are still there planning attacks.

In 2004, Kerry corrected Bush when he inferred that Saddam attacked us on 911. Also, one thing Kerry said that did get some traction was when he spoke of the effort to get OBL being outsourced to the Afghan warlords who only weeks before were working for the Taliban. (The news media even stold the outsourcing phrase.) Now, that they have regrouped this Bush failure is more damning. Every Democrat should be speaking of this. (Dean mentioned Afghanistan today as well.)
