Ted Koppel has a hit show on Discovery Channel |
|
Ted made a good point on bush* using our National Guard mostly in Iraq. He said we need to bring back the draft. It is'nt fair to keep sending our young men and women for 3 and 4 tours in Iraq.Lanny Davis said, (After watching Ted's documentary)concerning a young Arab from Canada who was sent to Syria and tortured for up to 12 months before being sent home with no charges against him. bush* needs to apologise to the young man.

We need to get OUT of that quagmire, not give a madman a large army so he can get us into more quagmires.

The American public's reaction to a draft - then realize that it is actually a tactic to END the quagmire. As long as the war is fought by "volunteers" it is easy for the Administration to keep it mostly under the radar.

8. When the majority is aware enough to want us the hell out |
|
it is NOT under the radar.
Do you really want to give a madman a huge army?
Think.

Any draft legislation couldn't pass - it would be political suicide. With "volunteers" the only ones suffering casualties, it is indeed "under the radar" for most Americans - the same level they deplored the death of children in Lebanon, distressing but happening to "other people." Whole different kettle of fish with the threat of a draft (or higher taxes, etc.)

7. Why should we legitimize Bush's PNAC plan? |
|
Sending in more troops would help him complete the plan. I say we take down Halliburton first. Give this country back to the people and stop killing our children to make old men rich.

3. If this is the best Koppel can do for a documentary he is one |
|
sorry piece of protoplasm!!
It would be nice to show the sheeple categorically all the costly lies this administration has told. And who paid for these lies with blood.

4. Koppel didn't exactly say that, he framed it as a question in an interview |
|
Koppel did very little editorializing on the show.
The show was EXCELLENT and lacked the seamy 9/11 tragedy wallowing of so many of the other 9/11 "news" programs have indulged in.
