This really should be in LBN - I really think so. Thanks Jim.
Boy did the military lie - so surprised - Joe
U.S. military death count for Baghdad excluded bombs, mortar and rocket attacks By Associated Press Monday, September 11, 2006 - Updated: 01:20 PM EST
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The American military did not count people killed by bombs, mortars, rockets or other mass attacks - including suicide bombings - when it reported a dramatic drop in the number of murders in the Baghdad area last month, the U.S. command said Monday. The decision to include only victims of drive-by shootings and those killed by torture and execution, usually at the hands of death squads, allowed U.S. officials to argue that a security crackdown that began in the capital Aug. 7 had more than halved the city’s murder rate.
But the types of slayings, including suicide bombings, that the U.S. excluded from the category of “murder” were not made explicit at the time. That led to confusion after Iraqi Health Ministry figures showed that 1,536 people died violently in and around Baghdad in August, nearly the same number as in July. The figures raise serious questions about the success of the security operation launched by the U.S.-led coalition. When they released the murder rate figures, U.S. officials and their Iraqi counterparts were eager to show progress in restoring security in Baghdad at a time when Iraq appeared on the verge of civil war

Your OP is outrageous. Also, I was pretty sure it's safe to post in LBN like you said it should, so I posted it: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2505523I've never had a new thread in LBN that wasn't deleted, so we shall see.

14. Feel free to hijack my thread - |

I am watching something that I think is serious, mostly because it effects my family - you know?? Me post to LBN?? - Not me. I don't really know who did what, I'm in and out of DU so much. I know some take it seriously, who is the poster of origin, and I don't care about that.
I guess my OP is outrageous, I wish it wasn't so.
But I've been thru a few deployments, and a few wars. So when I say I hope it is just outrageous I mean it with my heart. But I read with my brain.
It is going down man,
Joe

I can't believe they are this desperate to sell this stupid war.
But, clearly they are.

9. There is something going on in this "Battle for Baghdad" |
|
Today.
I can't figure it out from MSM news, I looked. But I know it is going on.
There is some big fight, probably north of Baghdad, and there is no report.
Where are these "intrepid" reporters goddamn it!!!
The things they "forgot" to report so far are legion.
I am pretty sure a big fight is breaking lose. Connections were missed today and that is the only possible reason, I am sure.
